Can Cp get another woodie?

I think this need to be addressed. Everyone knows that CP has some world class coasters, but they are mostly steel. But the thing is they have one fun woody in my opinion with Blue Streak. Mean Streak is just something that is not what a world class woodie should be. Do you think that they should address their lack of wood with a new wood coaster in the future, cause i like wooden coasters, just think they really need one. Throw out some ideas on manufacturers, such as CCI or GCI. Those companies make some nice coasters, and it doesnt necessarily have to be a dynamic peice of work that spans so much land. Make it fun for GOd's sake, ala the Villian at Gl.

Has CF built woodies for any of their parks lately?

Can they? Yes Will they? I wouldn't count on it

Probably never gonna happen. No one will talk about it seriously. Pisses me off too. How can they claim to be the best coaster park on the planet and be so unbalanced? Oh yeah...I forgot. Sorry :(

The last few that i can think of that they built for any of their other parks are shivering timbers in 98 for MA and Ghostrider, now that is kinda scary they havent made a commitment to wood unfortunately.

First they need a new marketing department that can do their job without the use of superlatives.

Right. This is an incredibly important issue with consequence that reach far and wide, not only amongst enthusiasts, but quite possibly the world over. Don't let this go by unnoticed. At least not until the next "Wut is c3dar poynt duyng n3xt y3ar?" or "Cedar Fair LIES!" topic.

Except that CF didn't own MIA in 1998.

Nor did they own Knotts when Ghostrider was concieved, so the last ones they likely build were Timber Wolf and Mean Streak

From an enthusiast's standpoint - sure, that sucks.

But from a business standpoint - well, they sure don't seem to be hurting.

Timber Wolf was a success. Other than that, it is pretty safe to say that CF hasn't had very good luck with wood.

Down is the new up.
Maybe they just buy parks so they can have the woodies that already exist. That is what pisses me off, try and build one because they have like three as the most they have at any park. But CP needs one badly. They really need some diversity to their coasters there!

Actually, Timber Wolf was at the park (WOF) already when Cedar Fair took over. The coaster had been at the park for some years. Ghostrider was in the process of construction when Cedar Fair took over Knott's. Not sure if it is true (and it wouldn't surprise me if it was), but I kept hearing that they didn't want Ghostrider to be built and tried to talk the original owners out of it. But I'm no expert on Knott's. I've only been there once, and I loved Ghostrider!!

But yeah...Cedar Fair doesn't build woodies anymore, they just buy parks that have them already.

So the only woodies that CF has built are MS and Hercules? Wow.

When you hear people get off of the Blue Streak and say it was bumpy you know why CF doesn't install wooden coasters anymore.
Will the real Dick Kinzel please stand up? So many experts here. I feel honored to be in ya'll's company.

I believe Hercules was already there when CF bought Dorney in the early-mid 90's.

Hercules wasn't built by Cedar Fair either. It was torn down by them!!

I don't think that Blue Streak is bad at all this year. I loved the rides it was giving a couple weeks ago when I was there. And I've been critical of the coaster in the past because it was running like there was gravel on the track. But I'll never understand how just because metal rides are quite, people think they are smooth. What a clever deception. Not all metal rides are smooth. Besides, I've had my head banged pretty bad on steel(ugh) coasters with horse collars. Raptor, Vortex, Dominator, ...it doesn't matter. So yeah eightdotthree, it upsets me when I hear people complain that all wooden coasters are rough because the last time they were at Cedar Point and rode Mean Streak, it was horrible. Then they'll say, Blue Streak was fun, but still a rough.

Damn...I guess they like getting kicked in the head better than the butt..huh?!!

Ask the average CP guest if they want another wood coaster. "You mean those old things?"

I swear, enthusiasts can't think of anything other than their own views.
