BREAKING! The Bat Flies Again at Kings Island! IT IS A WING COASTER!

I'm still holding the thought that it *could* be a B&M flyer. I'm not saying it is, as I can't predict the future (No, I didn't win the powerball last night), but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be one.

It would surprise me a ton if it was a Wing Rider. Just by whats actually there it doesn't seem like enough room to park three wing riders in the shed but any normal (Speed, Invert, Floorless) Yes.

I only have a few things Im unsure of, height, speed, drop, length number of inversions and NAME. For some reason A Screech Owl comes to mind as a creature of the night that screeches like a Banshee and has wings. That or NightHawk

This is a photo that I lifted from KICentral.

In addition to the things you point out, aren't we looking at the train in the station there?

All I keep seeing is the new campground.

Djdaemon, I did point out the width of the trains in the station blueprint as well.

WildStangAlex, I have never seen a B&M flying coaster that has vertical loops. The loops would have to be ridden with the track flipped into the inside of the loop in order for the ride to be even remotely comfortable. I am 99.4% sure that BansheeBat is not a Flying coaster.

I am, however, pretty sure that whatever this ride is, the track is over the trains because the zero-g roll has a support directly under it. If the trains rode over the track, the zero-g roll would not have a support directly under the track because it would cause an obstruction for the path of the train. That tells me that this ride is not a floorless.

All of this "rides" on the fact that the leaked blueprint is the real deal. If they are fake, we have been duped. The TV news who had a chance to look at the blueprints said that it was probably a wing coaster. The man who said that was previously employed by the park, I believe, and was connected to the building of new rides at one time, I believe. That's the only piece of the puzzle that does not fit. Perhaps he was encouraged to lie about what he saw in the blueprints, but then he would look foolish when the ride turns out to be an inverted instead. lol

Someone at KICentral said something very interesting, yet not very possible. They said that the park may be changing the theme of the entire Action Zone, renaming and repainting the rides there. Vertigo would become Screamin' Demon. Flight Deck would become The Bat. I like the idea, but it's just a dream.

The Guy that was on the news looking over the Blueprint was Dennis Spiegel (Was at one time) Owner of International Theme Park Services. He designs park layouts and Logistics. Not rides. I think if he was ever a VP of Kings it was back in the Coney Island Days. www.interthemepark.com

^He started out as a seasonal employee at Coney Island. Eventually he became assistant general manager there. That carried over into Kings Island where he had the same position. He held the Vice General Manager position there for a few years before he came the Vice President and General Manager of Kings Dominion.

So he was never General Manager at that Kings park....but at another one ;)

There is a B&M Flyer in Asia that has a vertical loop, Travis. It's the only one I'm aware of, it's very different. Looks cool.

The train in the station has the delta shape that an invert (or possibly flyer) would have if you look at that from that angle. It's not a flyer, though. It's an invert.

Which coaster is that, Tekwardo? I'm curious to see this! Also, LostKause, I was going with the thought the vertical loops might be tight pretzel loops, but I see your point clearly.

Hey, Tek, here's a time-trimming copy and paste for you to use late this evening.

"I told you it's an invert."

There ya go. You're welcome.

That coaster looks like fun!

And you are right, Batshee is an invert, and not a flyer. If it were a flyer, there would almost have to be a track flip before each vertical loop in the blueprints so that the train travels the inside of the loop. Also, the supports for the vertical loops do not fit for a flyer, by the look of that video. They do fit for an invert.

I do remember seeing that coaster somewhere now. It looks very intense, and I love the straight drop. Being that it'll be an invert at KI, I wonder if the trains will be different at all. I would love to see X-Flight style restraints on an invert, they are much more comfortable than the traditional restraints of an Invert.

C'mon, you've seen me post. I'll be writing a novel and naming names. ;-)

(then I have to copy/paste that to another forum and change the names)

Luckily for everyone, X-Flight was shipped down to KI as Firehawk prior to the closing of Geauga Lake.

The trick was to surrender to the flow.

Hell, the accountability of what everyone said the last 6 months is what I'm looking forward to the most.

This is exactly where credibility is won and lost.

As much as i would love to see them add a huge invert i think the park screwed up by having those webpages online just like CP did last year with the GK pages. I just don't think that the park is going to add a coaster with 1990s technology when wingriders are the new thing and theres only 3 of them in the US. Would people rather have a cell phone with 1990s technology or a 2013 Iphone5?

Bad analogy considering that the 1990s technology created some of the best looping rides ever built. Rides and phones are two VERY different things.
