1650 people per hour. I was worried it would be lower than that with no midcourse. Looks like its going to be high anyway.

I'm surprised they went with the name banshee. They abandoned that name at Cedar Point for Mantis, so why use Banshee now?
I was wondering this too. Guess they just said "Eff the BS, we'll call it what we want"

I'm not convinced a mid course brake is always necessary, even with three train operation. Look at Diamondback and the way they have it blocked. No two trains are ever on the course at the same time, train 1 is almost through the course, past the MCB, train 2 is sitting on the brake nearest the station, while train 3 is starting up the lift, which also serves as a block if necessary.
Brake runs are designed these days so all trains can sit on them if necessary. The only time the lift will release a train is if the first block in the final brake run is clear.
With Banshee it can easily be the same. One on the lift, one on its way in and one loading in the station.

I'm not really sure what you're referring to here. I'm certainly not "in the know", but I knew.Everyone but Marvin knew.
lol
Not sure if your quote was serious or just a set up to the Marvin punchline, but back when I was more heavily involved in the enthusiast community there seemed to be a subset of the group that believed, "Those who know don't tell...they just tell you they know". Seemed like the old guard community to me and really didn't add anything to the conversation.

The rest of the population might be "meh" in regard to whatever the announcement, but if a place like Kings Island can work a sizable crowd into a frenzy while the media is watching, it has to be considered a success.
And that's the value of enthusiasts. Like Gator said somewhere along the way in one of these thread - we're the video shoot seat fillers, the rambunctious crowd at the announcement ceremony, the cheerleaders on Travel Channel shows - at it's dirtiest, it free grunt work and it's best it's a strange symbiotic relationship.

Plenty of coasters don't have a a MCBR in the middle of the layout, but rather at the very end. It's semantics. As long as you have a station, two brake runs and a lift hill you can run three trains - even if the two brake runs are back-to-back at the end of the layout.
It's also why I laugh when people complain about GateKeeper's weak ending. If you think about it, all that really happened was that the design didn't get back to the station in enough time so they had to add the the little twist and dip between the two final brakes blocks.
I mean if you think GateKeeper's ending is weak, then you must really hate Banshee's - it goes from the MCBR right into more brakes. ;)

Congratulations to everyone who knew in advance. Glad to see "Those who know, don't tell" finally broken. Always seemed too old-school to me.
For the record, I didn't know but I still told.
For me it started as a wish. Moved to predicition status. Became a lot clearer once we saw the construction. And finally was confirmed with the blueprints.
This was an easy one to follow.
This thread needs to be closed because:
1. The Bat is not flying again at Kings Island.
2. IT IS NOT A WING COASTER!
3. Gonch is repeating himself.
Yeah, with three threads going about the same subject maybe it would be as good idea to push all conversation to the annoucement topic.
I'mma go for it.
If I prematurely locked this, Jeff, then I deserve a good spanking.
Closed topic.
