They are having Earl Scheib repaint the trains. Any train. Any color. Kings Island picked the Bengals colors. :)

ALL coasters use 300 year old technology... gravity
Methinks gravity has been around a little bit longer than that :)
I was basing that number off when it was "discovered" ;)

If we are the only one's that care, why not make it fun for the ones that care about your product?
Because at some point the effort isn't worth the return. Feels to me like the enthusiast crowd fits that bill.
And that's still me conceding the idea that it's fun.
It's not. It's dumb.
I'd still maintain that even to the GP, the element is mystery is a good thing.
Except that the GP (and I use that to mean the average KI visitor) isn't in on any of it. All the casual follower has seen so far is the fence and signs. Those paying more attention probably saw the media coverage of an upcoming world record announcement last week. Those paying even more attention have probably seen the tweets (keep in mind over 3,000,000 people vist the park but they have less than 20,000 followers on Twitter - so we're already into the 'heightened interest' crowd) that probably went right over the heads of most of them with the subtle wing references. Beyond that you're in enthusiast territory and we're the nerds noticing and talking about those clues and seeing the 'leaked' webpage and stuff.
The end point being - the GP doesn't care about the mystery. They may or may not see the announcement on the news and it's forgotten until next year when the advertising blitz begins.
The major flaw in all the arguments is predicated on the idea that the GP cares beyond an afterthought. They don't.
It creates buzz, for any product - however small, is better than no buzz
Unless the cost/effort outreaches the benefits of the buzz.
The simplest example/analogy I can possibly give is that an ad campaign that only reaches people already buying your product is a fail. You don't spend time/money/effort on the sure thing.
At best, I'll give you that it may create goodwill with your loyal customer base and that has some value.
This was posted on TPR. This link takes you to the "border image" for Kings Island. It states "World's Longest Inverted Coaster. New in 2014"

Plus, didn't the codes on the track pieces start with IC. I remember seeing those somewhere around here. Pretty sure IC doesn't stand for Wing Coaster.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
I can't believe they continue to use the company in Charlotte for web development.

*facepalm*
I can't believe we're still questioning this.
Maybe I give the enthusiast community too much credit and the silly games are totally effectual?
IC probably stands for Inverted Coaster, but you never know. Our friends from ACE are begging for it to stand for Infinite Cookies. Then there's some who are going with the Ice Cream theory. We'll find out tonight.
This just came up on TPR as well. Kings Island definitely is messing now....they took down the Longest Inverted one and added a Wing Coaster one. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/structure/border-panel-bottom-2014.png

I suspect they first trademarked it 17 or 18 years ago.
Joking aside, we all kind of knew that, but thanks.
I know most of you have Gonch.. I have been on here before but forgot which email I had used when I registered.. just trying to help with some of the Bat naysayers that bought the fake site hype..

Gotcha, not into the buzz and speculation....
Few hours now, in case anyone needs a link, here's the streamcast link of the event from someone who will be on hand at KI tonight

The funeral is set to begin....
The fog machines are actually already pumping. Pre-music for funerals typically starts 30 minutes prior to the service.
Wow! If this winds up being an invert I think some of you will have seizures. I'm now predicting the new ride will be named Red Herring and be a splash battle.
