Brawl closes SFMM on Saturday night

All I know is that I'll take the Indiana Jones Adventure over pretty much any of SFMM coasters any day. Gang fights or no! (And No I'm not a gay, ethnic, hindu, retired, war vet, paraplegic, or whatever that dumbass stereotype above about Disney was!)

I find it hard to believe I would have more fun at Disneyland than a poorly run Magic Mountain.

Which is why you are you, and I am myself. We have different tastes. I'd rather go to a park that seems to care about my experience. You'd rather go to a park that has 11 working coasters out of 16.

Why are we saying that Disneyland has a high percentage of homosexual visitors/staff?

I spent a week in SoCal in 2003 and my only blatently gay encounter was at SFMM with a guy who declared very loudly that X was "better than sex in the butt" and that he has "had sex in the butt and [his] sister walked in on him." He then introduced us to his sister.

My point? Well, if I have one other than the amusing story... Generalizations suck.

Stupidity, on the otherhand... I had *several* stupid people encounters at DL. Including one grown woman who insisted Chicago was in Ohio. ;)

But we get stupid people here all the time, John. ;)
Ummm for one i didn't say they owed me proof i said where is the proof. If it was that bad outta of the millions of people that visit SFMM there would be evidence of the horror on the net somewhere hell theres pictures of everything else. I'm not just talking about taking pics of trash either there are hundreds of other things people claim to be in such bad shape. People can talk all they want if you want to go by hearsay then that's fine with me, i perfer hardcore evidence not just people talking outta that hole in there face. Hell people kept saying the earth was flat but was it true no.

Also how many times do i have to say that i agree with most of the things rollergator(lowercase r... rollseyes) and others are saying. I never said the park was perfect just that things are over exaggerated. Are you guys even reading my post or just seeing my reply and attack. Like i sais i'm not trying to start a fight with anyone, i'm just trying to say that everything about SFMM isn't as negitive as the some people in the coaster community makes it out to be.

Anyways I'm done with this topic since no matter what, i'm going to made out to be the bad guy just for saying the park isn't all that bad. People are saying oh i just go there to buy my Season pass and that's it, well that is the problem and that is completely stupid imo. Spending your money with the park makes the park think they are doing something right when they're not. If they see people from So.cali buy their season passes from a park such as SFOG then they will see theres a problem. This in turn will make SFI do what is nessecary to fix the problem. Why would SFI fix SFMM if people aren't letting them know its broken. SFI is going to countinue to sell a broken product because people keep buying it. I say take all of your business to other parks if SFMM is that bad, make SFI see your not going to buy their broken product anymore. Until this happens none of right changes are going to be made.

Actually, I'd say you're the bad guy because you use terms like 'fag', and you argue stupid points. If you read my TR from SFMM, you'll see plenty of positives in it about the park and my day there.

You say you agree, but everytime someone says anything, you attack. And as for proof? I don't need pictures and 'hearsay' to make up my own opinion, I've been to the park, and agree with moosh, gator, nasai, and others. But on that note, I liked Scream, which they didn't. I'd say that means I have enough guts to have a differing opinion, it just happens that the opinion about the park is the same for the same reasons.

I do! In Los Angeles I spend my money at Knotts and the Disney resort.

Shut up, moosh! You're playing into the whole theory that only Gays and Senior Citizens go to Disneyland ;).
You know, Clint, I used to think (wrongly) that you weren't too bright. The more you argue on my side the more brilliant you become. :)

You have become my new hero.

Hehe. Thats my biggest problem on here, too many people think I'm being serious when I'm arguing (on an internet message board, none the less), or think I'm trying to be funny when I'm being rude.

I'm really a nice guy, once you get to know me. Just ask Mamoosh, rollergator, coasterqueenTRN, +Danny, dawnmarie, dannermanT, ApolloAndy, and countless others I'm not naming on purpose just to see who all responds with a 'Me too!'

I totally agree with westcoaster fan. Im so tired of everyone bashing SFMM. If you go there with the sole purpose to talk trash about the park then do us all a favor who like the park and not come at all. It would help cut down on the wait times. I went to SFMM last weekend and aside from a guest losing his keys causing X to close down for 30 minutes while the attendents looked for the keys everything was up and running at great capacity aside from the normal closures. I waited three cycles for a front seat ride on Deja Vu and dispatch times were only 3 minutes with only 2 attendents. I didnt see any trash on the ground and the staff was very friendly.

Any park in the greater LA area is going to have its problems every now and then its normal were all just human beings nobodys perfect. This is a city where even our cops are shooting people at will. If we lived in a perfect world TTD wouldnt be breaking down moreso than X or even Deja Vu. But as usual SFMM gets the bad wrap and CP gets all the praise. I give major kudos to SF Inc. for trying to revamp the image of their parks and improving guest quality and im sure SFMM will get its turn soon so until then hang tight. *** Edited 5/25/2005 6:08:00 AM UTC by socalcoaster***

Ah, see, Tekno... You listed DannyP and Dawnie there. I don't know if I can count on Dawnie after my last B&M conversation with her... (ask her). And, well, Danny's in kahootz with her.

Tina and Moosh were in big kahootz with them while in SoCal so I don't know if I can trust them, either.

I'll trust Gator, though, just because he can ride all year.

PS- SFMM sux. It's full of minorities and gays. Oh, and their rides are really big. The park's
management must be compensating for something.

Unless an amusement park is on a pinnensula in a great lake, I can't like it.

Wrong argument, dude. This isn't a CP vs SFMM thread. We're discussing SFMM, the possible reasons there was a brawl, and what the park might to do help prevent them in the future.

You were born in 1984...you've been going to the park for about 10 years. I was born in 1965 and have been going to the park at least one a year since the FIRST YEAR IT OPENED. Believe me...the park was MUCH better when it had fewer than 10 coasters, flat rides that actually operated, employees that actually cared, and walkways there were actually clean.

I'm not saying a person can't have a good time at the park. But the experience could be SO MUCH BETTER if they stopped focusing on making it a "thrill park" for teens.

I'm really a nice guy, once you get to know me. Just ask Mamoosh,

If you're so nice why didn't you buy a calendar last year ;)

Remind me to give you money Tuesday, Mr. Whiney Pants. ;)

I have never been to SFMM. Two things deter me from going.

1. I live in Indiana (right by Holiday World, actually)

2. SFMM is supported by ppl that defend it with some invalid points and stereotypes (what does being gay have to do with enjoying a park?).

I have a few gay friends, none of them will make my experience at a park any less enjoyable. Actually it is quite the opposite, which is why I consider them friends.

I do have fun when I go to SFMM, but that doesn't mean its a good park. It just means that my expectations are low and I try to keep a good attitude and just have a good time with it.

Anyway, my experience with crime at SFMM is as follows:

I saw a fistfight in the parking lot (in broad daylight at SFMM. Two guys exchanging insults and just beating the crap out of each other.

With as many reports as we hear on the news and from personal experiences of the park's visitors on these boards, its pretty obvious that these things do happen, and more often than in other parks.

You don't have to resort to stereotypes to see that the clientele is just not as wholesome as Disneyland or even Knott's for that matter.

Its a problem and it needs to be fixed. How this can be done is beyond me (uniformed LAPD presence?). Heck, I can't even recall seeing security walking around the park at SFMM (though I'm sure they must). In any case, its a problem and something has to be done.

There are gays people in Indiana? I thought it was a 'red' state. :)

Must be some of those "Log Cabin Republicans".

Clint, I like Scream! too. Certainly don't LOVE it, but it was OK. I don't have an issue with the *noticeable vibration* that others have commented on, but I definitely notice it. I think we've narrowed it down to the newer floorless models (and BKFinator, which I'll check out on Saturday). My MAIN issue was that the hefty $12M pricetag could've been used to really IMPROVE those park aspects which were already lacking, instead of building an underutilized and underappreciated way to get a good look at your vehicle.

Of course, I'm *told* that I like everything, so my judgement might be a bit iffy...;)

Exactly CoasterFanMatt, you cant just say, "well this is LA" and think thats good enough. Additional security is certainly a start, and not the crap security I saw at SFOT chatting it up with Batman's crew. Good security.

I hate to keep bringing this up, but at Kennywood this weekend I saw more security than I have ever seen at any park. They were visible in every area of the park.

Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for letting someone who writes like this to get your blood up. Not that I blame you, but let's put this in perspective here. ;)
