Best Headchoppers...

S:ROS @ SFNE has the killer headchopper going into the second tunnel. And Cyclone has some nice ones there as well.

Going under the lift on the ninja is scary! one day, my friend and i got bored, so we rode it 35 straight times, which shows how many people were at the park at the time, and every time, i would duck because i was so scared the chain was gonna hit me

Coming out of the first helix, and entering the second on S:RoS @ SFA are good ones.

Also the tunnel on Apollo's Chariot. I think its at the bottom of the 2nd or 3rd hill.

Foe me of course the Phantom's revenge three head choppers, when you dive over the thunderbolt's first and last drop's then the part were you dive by the side of the thunderbolt's front seat line, and the dive under the phantom's revenge.

Of and at IOA riding the Jurassic Park River Plunge when the T-rex comes down and tries to take your head off! I didn't see the drop and I really thought the t-rex was going to bite me. Me and my sister 6 year old sister were both scared.

Here are a bunch from experience -

- Gemini

- Goliath (oh goodness that tunnel!) www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/coasters/pictures/goliath/img/goliath7.jpg

- Matterhorn Bobsleds

im gonna have to say the Dragon Coaster at Rye Playland has some intense headchoppers with some awesome airtime to go along with it. S:ROS at SFNE has one excellent point at the end of the first drop.
I gotta go with Ghostrider and Desperado. Ghostrider is loaded with head choppers, and Desperado makes it feel like you are going to be decapitated going into that tunnel on the first drop!

My favorite head chopper would have to be the awesome one on Cornball Express. I feel like im going to fly out of my seat and hit my head off the Ibeam every time.

Sit on the left side of Kumba, you swear that the lift hill stair rail will take your head off.

Dave's Trips

I really thought something bad was going to happen to me on Tremors. Those headchoppers are for real.

I think my favorite is on the third hill on zingo when the coaster goes under a building with the Joker's face painted on it. After riding it hundreds of times - I still want to duck.

One that surprised me was a head chopper at the top of the second loop on the Thriller/Texas Tornado/???? at Astroworld. Having a head chopper at the top of a loop was really bizarre.

Are you ducking your head up or down then?! Lol. My favorite one would have to be Gemini. When you look at it riding, there's PLENTY of room. But going over a hill and seeing a wall of supports right in front of you, is something else.

MooreOn, would padding really stop someone from losing a body part if they were to hit a support while riding?

Well, if the train were going fast enough, then no, but on most coasters, if you happen to hit a support, you won't lose any body parts. You'll just be in extreme pain. Some people have hit the Beast's helix tunnel with their hands, and others have even hit that support on MF's first turn (the support that CP modified because you could touch it if you reached out). And I don't think anybody lost body parts. Broken fingers, maybe. Now Thunderbolt doesn't go that fast, so I don't think hitting the PR support would cause any lost appendages, but I'm sure that pad would at least lessen the pain a little bit if anybody were to hit their hand on the support. Now I don't know if anyone has even hit their hand there, but I do know that the headchopper looked close enough to make me put my hands down on that drop every single time I've ridden (which was my original point, NOT anything about the pad saving people from losing body parts).

"Scrollable toenails!"

Wow. I'm suprised no one mentioned X. After the raven turn, it looks like you're gonna smack your head on a yellow support beam. Ghostrider is full of them too.

The headchopper coming out of the second loop on Ninja @ SFSL is one of the best I've personally seen.

I must agree, the headchopper on Ninja is the best I have ever seen. Not only is it the scariest headchopper I have ever experienced it is also one of the most sureal things I have seen on a coaster. You come out of the dive loop and then right in front of you is the chain return rail and you can actually see the chain and hear the chain running. Just really odd. That headchopper is worth riding Ninja alone.

"Sorry folks, park's closed. The moose out front should've told you."

Phantom/Thunderbolt dive... made even better after the revamp into Phantom's Revenge.

Honorable Mentions: Viper SFGAm... bunny hills in w/ a wooden ceiling, Boss SFStL... first drop/first dip = wooden claustrophobia, Ninja SFStL... who put that chain there? Racer KW... last drop, backseat

Viper SFGAm is pretty freaky, but what about Beast? God, the tunnel into the helix looks like it'll take the whole upper portion of your body!

Other memorable head-ducking moments: Raging Bull, Ghost Rider, Rampage, and the helix exit of American Eagle SFGAm

Take it up a notch, Mr. Operator! I wanna feel my brains in my feet!

Yall is prolly gonna think Im crazy but I think FoF @ PKI has soem good headchooper effects.I dont have a very long track record but I rode FoF 3 times in one day at different times and 2 of them were with all the lights in the building on(once was on the first dispatch of the day and then another was the last dispatch of the day). Those last few turns(Thier more like uneven helixs)b4 U pop up into the exit platform it looks like you can easly reach up and touch a support.
