Best Headchoppers...

I would have to say Great White at Moreys' Piers like you said.

Good advice, Chuck, I smacked by hand into that chopping board on the final day of operation 1987... scariest moment on a coaster for me.

Edit: Best headchopper in my book is gone now... the last dip of KI's Racer...

Pulling one out from my measly track record, I'd have to go with Space Mountain at WDW. I'm not very tall but I could still hear the supports whizzing past my head.

I still love the Vekoma SLC footchopper, right before the two twists.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension. A dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. Your moving into a land of both shadow and substance of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into...The Twighlight Zone.
The return run on Judge Roy Scream at SFOT has some great, surprising headchoppers. I still lower my hands some when the train tops that hill (and that's after many, many rides). It's also fun to sit in the back and watch everyone's hands drop at that part. :)

The best headchoppers I've experienced are on Goliath (SFMM) and definitely Ghostrider.
I actually ducked on Steel Force during the helix. About Mamba, I was tempted to duck while watching the POV on Robb Alvey's video.

For steel, Goliath's tunnel ranks right up there...along with Steel Phantom (well, PR is the same through that section even though I haven't gotten back).

For wood, KG's Twister, Beast helix, and surprisingly...SFoG's GASM has a chopper going into the brake shed (another handslapper)...;) I'll also remind Chuck of the figure-8 on Cheetah...:)

Nobody mentioned Tremors at Silverwood! http://www.rcdb.com/full/silverwood-theme-park/tremors4.jpg

I think the Boss had some good head chooper as well as the mine train coaster at PKI
Definatly Wildcat at Hershey. At the speed your going and with your body being tossed around so much you feel like your going to eject right of the train onto the road.
What about Space Mountain at WDW. Some people have even hit their heads on the supports they are so low(Shaq is the one that I know). Now that is a real headchopper.

Have you hugged a Beemer today?

Most of the ones that get me have already been mentioned. The only other one i can think of is the tunnel at the bottom of the 1st hill on S:ROS. From the top of the hill it looks like you'll never fit into it - especially from the front. Most people who ride it for the first time put their hands (and even their heads) down in terror. I wish they took the on ride photo there! =)

I suppose the same is true on Goliath as well, or any other coaster with a tunnel at the bottom of a huge hill. I can't remember whether or not Bull's was scary - I don't think it was as scary as S:ROS, though.

peace, love, coasters.

Has anyone here ridden Rampage? I haven't heard much about it, what are the headchoppers like?

-----------------
Best inverts:

1. Talon
2. Volcano - The Blast Coaster
3. Raptor

certainly Ninja at SFOG

I would say that Cornball Express has a fairly good headchopper when you dive under it's supports. If you've rode it you know what I'm talking about.

Well, at PKI, besides The Beast, as mentioned above, Adventure Express has some neat head choppers. Also, Son of Beast has a good headchopper when the train is leaving the second helix and dips below the support structue for the upper level of the helix. Also, Runaway Reptar in Nick Central at PKi is crammed with awesome foot choppers.

Phantom's Revenge without a doubt.

Dania beach hurricane has a wicked headchopper at the end. You are going about 35 mph, and are getting sros at sfne intesity airtime when all of a sudden u flatten out while turning and go under a ton of beams. The airtime and turning combo make it a nasty headchopper. Gemini has a good one as well.

shouldn't Legend's DIP under Zoombabwe really be disqualified from the competition since it's really a *headbasher* more than a headchopper...;)
