Anyone Glad that Holiday's new coaster is not the longest?

Major brownie points there, Jeremy; thanks! :)

What's really weird is our youngest starts Kindergarten next month; by the time he's in college, I'll be ... well, nevermind.

My husband (the dairy farmer) has some dealings with a family that used to be Amish. Their oldest and youngest children are the same ages as ours. We have one additional child in between. They have 10!

I nearly fainted at the thought.

10? Yikes Paula!

To think my mom wanted 12, my dad decided to stop at 6.

Scary to know how many my wife wants, would be a great idea to start our own baseball team ;)

Anyone glad that Paula's family isn't the largest?

Discuss.

beast fan, don't pay any attention to these geeks, most of them are probably kids on summer vacation and living with mommy. the people on this website are very stuck-up and cliquish. as far as i'm concerned, the're all juniors as far as coasters are concerned. when you've been on over 400 coasters and many of them defunct, then you can talk to me.

WOW! You really know the people on this board. You nailed it, we're all a bunch of kids on summer vacation. Considering that out of the 20 or so individuals I've met from Coasterbuzz only one was college aged oR younger, I think you're a bit off on your assumption.

Geeks? At your age, wouldn't you be pappa geek? Nothing like someone pushing 50 to be on a coaster enthusiast site proclaiming some sort of coaster superiority and yet still have the nerves to call everyone else a geek!

I just hope that when I'm your age I'm as hypocritical and egotistical as you are. But then again, I don't have 400 coasters under my belt, so you're probably not going to talk to me. :( Whatever!

Yeah is Good!
I think the other 400+ coaster folk were the ones chuckling. But anyway...

Congratulations Rob! You've just scared me away from every woman in Ohio. ;)

Hitting #400 in September. 40 yrs old, college grad, run my own business. I've been on many defunct here, too.

And I think Beast is totally overrated. What's your point, Fanofwood? ;)

What's his point? That he's better than you, ya geek! ;)

Yeah is Good!

That's what makes all this nonsense so sad.

Ah yes, the "Superior Elite Snob" card. Not very common, but only worth playing in a young crowd for the glitz value. You need to know the audience it's being played in front of, or the gambit is lost.

So you've been on more coasters than some members here. So fracking what?

Tekno Doesn't look silly cause Tekno doesn't get off on bullying. But that is another story. What Tekno is saying is that Beast Fan coulda just ignored in the first place. Hey, that sounds like sound advice... *** Edited 7/20/2005 5:11:40 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***

Talking in the 3rd person Tekno? You aren't The Rock. :)

The sad thing with the enthusiast community from what I have witnessed, is that the older generation (50+) can act just as childish as the teenagers. At least the teens have an excuse.

That was not meant at all 50+ or teens. Just what I have seen from some.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

On a side note, I have a question for Paula or anyone else here. Holiday World has had a great relationship with defunct CCI and now Gravity Group. Anyone see this stopping the Koch family with contacting other manufacturers? Let's say GCI. Or is it a given we can expect a long relationship with Gravity Group?

P.S. I do realize this is a "n00b" question and not relevent to the topic. By the way, next summer will be my first trip to Holiday World from Massachusetts!

Thanks

Hehe, I'm glad I made 400 this spring....Beast doesn't suck! It's a tad overbraked, poorly underbanked in a few turns (I hear they've gotten that fixed off the first drop at least, LOL). I'm a tad masochistic when it comes to intense woodies (see: Tx Giant, Ga Cyclone), and Beast's helix is *still* one of the defining moments of my coaster career. But the entirety of the rest of the ride does leaves lots to be desired. My last rides were maybe '02 I think, and my last GT ballot didn't feature Beast in the top ten...(nor any other Paramount wood for that matter)....hmmmmm ;)

The last poll of Mitch's it landed right around 35 I think, out of about 80.

But this thread is about HW...I'll take the shorter, smoother, better designed, better maintained, more intense woodies at HW over *all* of the wood at PKI.

P.S. to mike.s.: I don't think the relationship with CCI/TGG would *prevent* HW from going to someone else for another woodie. That being said, considering what HW has gotten from those guys, why take chances with someone else? Talk about a "proven *track* record"...LOL.
