Adventureland (IA)

Yeah, what's that stand-up version on that link? Are we getting the stand up one, or the other one. Why does Adventureland always insist that spinning or hanging upside down for a long time is a "thrill"?

Coaster Count: 189

Are we getting the stand up one, or the other one.

Who says we are getting one? ;)

two! ;)
Alas, none of those hanging upside-down from an OTSR rides interest me. I'd rather have something more comfortable to ride like flying scooters or an enterprise. Bring back "The Little Blue Roller Coaster", aka Der Flitzer :)

Oh well, enjoy your spinning rides, guys. I am happy Adventureland keeps adding more rides. It adds to the atmosphere whether or not I enjoy them myself. :)

I do think it's funny when a park postpones its announcements like that. Given the number of people who already know beforehand, "the word" (thanks to Stephen Colbert) is going to get out....

Just go ahead and make the formal announcement already! :)

Hey, my family called it the Mountain Ride too. My mother always referred to it as "The Little Blue Roller Coaster" though. *** Edited 12/10/2005 12:03:45 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Bill, While WE may already know about (and have known about it forever) the general public has not. When they make the announcement they will be excited and then they will all go "That's just like Thunderhawk at WOF or RipTide at Valleyfair -- big whoop" and then they will go enjoy Patriot and/or Xtreme Swing instead.

That poor park in Iowa doesn't have a chance with the big corporate park surrounding it.

Exactly. That is why they need to install some unique or at least uniquely better attractions like an "insanely great" wooden coaster which WoF and VF no longer have. :) *** Edited 12/10/2005 4:38:12 AM UTC by Acoustic Viscosity***

Sorry friend you are wrong. If you were there than you were the only one. They did manage to open for 8 weeks in 2004. You see I live less than one mile from old WWU. I would know if it was open. I have for all of my life 32 years. Read the story below http://www.dmregister.com/news/stories/c4788998/22679754.html

White water university closed after the 2004 and will likely never re-open. *** Edited 11/21/2005 2:19:56 AM UTC by davidbush***

I too am sorry for you. I cannot believe that you live only one mile away and didn't notice that it DID open for about 1 and a half months this summer. I WAS NOT the only one there, there were many kids and parents having a good time.

This is not related to any new rides coming to the park. But, Jack Krantz who started Adventureland passed away this last weekend. He was 76. Having worked at Adventureland for a number of years I can tell you he will be sorely missed and my sympathies go out to his family.
