Adventureland (IA)

I saw over on Screamscape that the Mixer is going bye bye (very nice since it hardly runs) and then over on Adventureland's web site, they state they are getting 2 new rides next year.

Any ideas of what is going in?

They have a Falling Star, Frisbee, and Drop Tower so is this a new coaster???????????????

Adventureland and new coaster, I must laugh because when I take any coaster rumors over the years seriously it's almost certain I am disappointed. *** Edited 10/21/2005 5:57:42 PM UTC by SnakeEyes***
True, but really I can't think of any other flat rides, I was hoping to see the Dragon being ripped out and replaced but I guess not.

I know Swoosh probably has some hidden info....

They should pull out that darn Inverter as well (unless they already have)
Well there was a rumor going around from a few wooden coaster people that a park in Iowa wanted another wooden coaster.

This means nothing and certainly doesn't mean next year. So there you have it.

As far as I know they don't have a top spin like thunderhawk at WOF and oh since they are Iowa's Largest Complete Family Resort as they claim why don't they finally get a family coaster in there (Spinning Dragons). Thats my opinion have fun everyone.
Underground? That isn't a family coaster?

I've never been able to quite figure out what Underground is.....

"Heavily medicated for your safety!"

Well I own what was supposed to be the orriginal train car for The Underground. Told to me by both Mike Grahme and Randy Larrick. It's bascially a CCI tub based on a PTC but all steel.

The park decided it wanted something more spooky and somehow they got what are basically PTC jr trains modified with only a T bar restraint and homemade tubs.

I dont know really if u consider it a family coaster or not I wouldn't.

Not yet. DMoney talked to the park earlier this week and they plan on announcing pretty soon.

You own...Will never be seen again in the jungle that is your brothers back yard.

Hi.....whats your name again?

Swoosh speak! I must know things :P
HaHa...The Mixer. All I could think about when I rode that ride @ Adventureland were the lyrics from The Dead Milkmen song "Stuart"

"...You know that carnival comes into town every year? Well this year they came through with a ride called The Mixer. The man said, "Keep your head, and arms, inside the Mixer at all times." But Bill Jr, he was a DAAAREDEVIL, just like his old man. He was leaning out saying "Hey everybody, Look at me! Look at me!" Pow! He was decapitated! They found his head over by the snow cone concession..."

A spinning coaster like "steel Dragon" at Waldameer or "Whirlwind" at Sea Breeze would be great for that park. Compliment it with a nice Flying Scooter, and that would be gravy.
Hey I am all for a spinning coaster, that would be great.

It won't be a coaster -- however you will be spinning on at least one of the two new rides (or maybe both?!?). ;)

Bring back the flitzer! I heard Dragon's days are numbered -- hooray!
My Adventureland wishlist:
-One REALLY GOOD woodie
-Anton shuttle loop
-A good double/multi-loop coaster like Texas Shock Wave
-Anton Wildcat or better yet, a speed racer :)
-chute the chutes
-flying scooters
-any intamin drop ride
-tumbler

Speaking of flyers, didn't Adventureland take theirs out to put in the Balloon Race way back in the `80s?

I believe they did. I too have heard that the Dragon might be leaving in the near future.

So you have to wonder...would they ever bring back flyers? Man, I hope so!
