Adventureland (IA)

Oh if Dragon goes, I will be so heartbroken.

NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

hmm, maybe a Top Spin like at WOF then but no coaster, darn, unless Swoosh isn't telling the Truth : )

Looking at your list - what's wrong with Outlaw?

Outlaw and Tornado are good, but not GREAT. I consider them both average rides. I just wish there could be one killer woodie at my homepark. It doesn't have to be huge, just a great ride that makes me want to ride it all day long. Examples: Avalanche, Raven, OzCat, Cornball, Cyclops, Timber Terror. No need for a 4D, or a Beemer or a strata/giga/hyper.

Outlaw ran this summer like it had bricks for wheels.

Tornado sounded like it was going to set itself on fire with the sparks it sounded like it was making.

I personally liked Tornado more than Outlaw.

Personally I think outlaw gives about the most outstanding ride a 60ft woodie could give while still being kind to families.

Still, it would be awesome to have one of thes BAL** to the wall coasters like is being built now.

Chuck, who liked adventurland a lot but it had no outstanding features to draw me back. Something like a Hades or Voyage would do that multiple times.

900 miles is a trek I make seldom

Must have caught him on a bad day(s). I actually thought Outlaw was doing better than last year. The second half of the ride is just a tad too slow. Is it just me or did it used to finish off with more of a punch?

I think a jr.hyper would do the park well. It could be placed on the east side of the park.

I thought both coasters need a bit of TLC. Dragon on the other hand I just plain wished I had skipped on. That HURT! and and that was before the lift hill!

I would be quite content with an OzCat clone. Sure a bigger wickeder ride like Chuck described wood be better, but I just want one great ride that I can't get enough of and would make me want to visit the park everye week, not just a few times a year (I live less than 25 minutes from the park and rarely feel like going). Several parks have more than one great woodie. You peeps near Silverwood, HW, the Dells, and Knoebel's are so lucky. :p

I rod both Tornado and Outlaw all summer as usual. Outlaw's first half was running better but was missing those little bits of airtime right toward the end. One thing i noticed with Tornado was the hard lateral when sitting in front coming up the final hill was missing.

Swoosh--yes, a jr. hyper would be a GREAT addition. No need for 200+ feet. Something like Holland's Goliath would be perfect. If we got that, I would be very happy. The east edge of the park could really use a major addition to the skyline. The jr. hyper would probably work well for not being too loud for the neighboring campers as well.

Interesting how we all get different experiences. I found Outlaw's double down to be smoother at the bottom than in years past. Tornado doesn't quite have that punch anymore either.

Take out the campground.....expand the park...add an indoor waterpark/amusement park and expand the hotel again..... ;)
Acoustic Viscosity's avatar
Now you're talking, except where would most of the seasonal employees live then? ;) A waterpark has to be in the works, even though we have Whitewater University just down the rode.

I was semi half serious/half joking. I was wondering why they did not already have a waterpark there. I am sure that Adventureland would make a killing. If they made it part of the hotel, which is already a pain in the butt to get a room in, it would make it even harder to do so. But it would make sense if the park actually owns the hotel and campground to do something like that. I am surprised that they did not when they added on to the hotel.

I also wondered if at one time the train ride actually went all the way around the park. It looks like it could have or was planned to. I think that it would be neat if they could do that. They could have it go around the Outlaw and have a train station back there between it and the Royal Hanniford circus, then have it traverse between the Tornado and Dragon and around the park back to the front again. They really missed some interesting ride interaction opportunities by not having it go all the way around the park. *** Edited 10/27/2005 9:52:13 PM UTC by beast7369***

I am not surprised. I've always gotten the impression the park was a bit "slow" when keeping up with the latest news in the industry. Anyone remember reading the newspaper articles when Dragon was new? Let me paraphrase a quote from the park:
"The Dragon will feature two loops, which is pretty state of of the art as most coasters are just beginning to have more than one." I kid you not, it was something really silly like that.

The A-Train has always been the way it is now. I agree. It should be a transport ride to the back of the park and all the way around, but now we're really getting greedy with our wishes. :)

No the campground and motel are really big money makers for the park. I say take out the catering area and move it elsewhere and put a big "welcome coaster" there. :) I still want a jr. hyper as that would do really well at the park on the East side. Shoot even have Chance-Morgan build it.

I wouldn't mind an intense Morgan, but I have no desire for a Mamba or Wild Thing at my homepark; blahh. Go Intamin! Actually, how `bout an Intamin jr. hyper with a couple of vertical loops thrown in? Now we're talking. A great looper with loads of airtime, ala Texas Shock Wave.. So here's a thought...if they do that and put it on the eastern edge AND do away with Dragon, what should go in Dragon's place? Discuss!

Rumor is, Megazeph may be available for a fraction of the original price.
