Adds going wild

Heck, Jeff, I bet just breaking even would be nice to do... o host a server (or remote hosting as CBuzz is now) takes cash. Do you all expect Jeff to pay for all this out of his own pocket? So what, you have to wait a few seconds while an ad shows up. If you don't like it, help the site out and pony up the $20 for a year of ad-free surfing of the site. $20/year is only 5.5 cents a day! If you were to cut out two cans of soda a week, it would only take you 13 weeks to save up enough. So don't give me the lame-a** story of "I don't have $20 to spare."

Jeff in getting this to be the #1 coaster community on the net has spent many, many, many more multiples of that $20 to run this site.

You don't like the ads...then pay up and they'll be gone!

..quite a lot of assuming going on there causing offence. Please quit the a** kissing, math lessons, and patronising. Furthermore regarding $$, there is a big difference between dont have, and dont wish. Where was the lame story BTW? Another reason CB IMO is going down, too unfriendly, too many smart-ass comments, which when considerred, actually sound quite dumb. This moderation thing is very subjective.

I used to belong to ECC. I never renewed. You know why? Because the publication wasn't worth it. It was nice, and I think Justin runs a world-class organization, but I was on it for the information, which at this point is just as easy to get on the Internet. In fact, the One Click CB affiliate is quite outstanding for photos from Europe.

The club continues to do well, and I don't see any reason why it won't continue to. Clubs, whether they are for profit or not, are still a business that people pay money to. If they can meet the needs of their members, they continue to grow. If they don't, they die. CBC grew to 350+ members in 18 months because it offers something people want. It offers online community and more content (or links to content) than anything else. While I don't emphasize it, it also offers events, including three this year (well, it would've been three if the Holiday World accident didn't happen). Not a bad start for something that was labeled as a certain failure in October 2001.

As for your concerns about the members here, welcome to the Internet. Online communities are just like live ones, they have cliques, personalities and of course big jerks. Just like in real life, you have to take the good with the bad, and deal with these same imperfect human beings. Such is life.

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

OK, before anyone else posts, grab a Snickers. We have a major case of grumpiness here. Or penile envy!

Smarta** or not there is one underlying factor here. This site is not hosted on charity. The members pay for this site that all non members enjoy and then complain about. If it wasn't for the smarta** CB members than most of you JPHA (aka: "Jeff Putz Haters Anonymous") members wouldn't have a "forum" (aka: "Thread") to complain in.

I for one enjoy the site. Where else can one say something like "TTD was a bad investment." and get roasted for 4 months?

Oh, I have been here for 4 hours and have 3 pop ups. If you have more in equal or less time than I can guarantee it is your system. Imagine the thought.

Seriously, are pop-ups that big of a deal? Heaven forbid you must take the time and effort to close a pop-up! I mean, really, this is a great coaster site! So many sites don't even offer to let you join a club to have a pop-up free site. I don't post much- but I visit the site everytime I come online and the pop-ups don't bother me. Sites like this cost $$, and if someone is willing to put out the time and effort into creating such a great website- then bring on the pop-ups! Quit your complaining and deal with it!

Chris, just looking at your posts-- did you use a dictionary to help you come up with that bombast nonsense?

"I haven't given any indication of interest or otherwise, though I'd have to say it would be irrelevant. We can't see what goes on "behind the scenes", only what you choose to show us via your own posts in your forums. And, since this was originally about your difficulties with people using ad circumventing software or choosing not to register (a legitimate if poorly-worded gripe) surely you must concede that you might be able to catch more of this particular fly with honey, than with vinegar.

Of course this also applies to me, as I jumped in the word "jackasses", so I might not recognise the point in your shoes. I would appreciate the chorus, though, even if I might prefer one that spoke English. What are camouflage Depends, and what's a shist?"

Just wondering (and trying to become one of the big jerks here at CoasterBuzz)
