2006 PKD.. Italian Job Stunt Track.

Coasterbuzzer,

That must explain why Friday The 13th made 20 billion movies. But HOW they made THAT much money I will never know.

Angelina Jolie? Oh hell even I would go out with her. She's HOT!!!

What's funny to me about that language thing is we have European posters on board who apologize for their occasional misuse of a word or phrase....and they are CLEARLY some of the smarter and wiser posters around...jimvy excepted, LOL... :)

If only they taught English in American schools... ;)

P.S. Ashlee Simpson got the brains in the family? Scary stuff!

Agreed.

But I never see Jimvy apologizing for anything when he should. ;-)

<----who thinks of IJST as an "intense family ride".

Not even Brad, (who the females swoon over so much) deserves Angeline Jolie. She was looking so fly in Mr & Mrs Smith.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

So this is confirmed? Wow. They sure do love launched coasters!

Sadly, we may never see another Tomb Raider movie, not because it's not a good character, but because the writing in the first two films was absolutely embarrassing.

...look how many Top Gun coasters there are with only one movie...

And look how dated Top Gun at PKI is. It was silly hearing the music form the movie in the station.

As for clones, I'm an enthusiast and Carowinds is my home park. I don't mind if a clone comes here as it helps ease the jealousy of other Paramount park's rides.

Ex: when PKI got Son of Beast i wished that we had got a version of it. PKD got Volcano and Flight of Fear. Where's ours? PGA got Stealth and we wanted something similar and ...oops. Careful what you wish for.

As I always say to people complaining about what their park is getting, " Someone somewhere wishes they had the very ride you take for granted."

I personally think that only PKD is getting the ride next and we are getting a water park expansion

As for the name and theme of the Italian Job, read my signature

^You never know....Paramount has a way of suprising it's customers, after all you got PGA's flying dutchman & PKI's beloved flyers.

I'd be suprised if SFA will realize what competition they're facing as this will be PKD's 2nd coaster since 02 following Ricochet(a mighty fine mouse might I add) & they still probably won't add a new coaster in the forseeable future....just look at HP's recent coaster additions(made within the same time frame) as an example & they're much closer.

Could be worse...it could be another zamperla volare, now that is something we can all agree that PKD doesn't need.

I thought the concept, name, and theme of Italian Job: Stunt Track was really sweet. It felt like a solid attempt to do something more "Universal Studios" on what budget they had to work with.

Why shouldn't PKD get there own Italian Job Stunt Track? They can do whatever the heck they want. Coaster Enthusiast probably make up less than one percent of theme park goers. I live in Williamsburg, VA, and trust me the locals are gone eat Italian Job PKD up !!! Do you honestly think Paramount is worried about what a handful of enthusiast have to say, or think, uh... Nope. Why would they? Atleast they are adding a worth while attraction. You guy'es beloved Busch Gardens Williamsburg hasn't added nothing in years. Oh wait they added Curse Of Dark Kastle this year. Which sucks big time (my opinion). Locals hate it. They go in expecting a roller coaster, and are upset to see it's just a haunted house on steroids. Even the commercial, and ads lead visitors to think it's a coaster. Sad. One more thing... Whats up with the obssesion over B&M Floorless coasters? They are nice, but give me a break. They all feel the same. Oh and FYI I have been on every floorless on the planet exept for Scream at SFMM so I know how they all feel. The same. Just accept the fact that PKD may get their own IJST for 2006. If you don't like it then just stay home. PKD is going no where for a very very very very long time.

Well some of us havn't been on a floorless(or any B&M's for that matter) & want to try them ok?

You think you've got it bad? try having SFA as a homepark we havn't gotten any coasters since Batwing in 01(PKD was supposed to get it) & since then all we've gotten was one water ride in the theme park & a remodeling of our waterpark...I'm happy that PKD is adding another coaster but I'd prefer something other then a launched ride....ohh well beggers can't be choosers.

As for BGW you've got a great record setting B&M invert,a somewhat decent hyper(S:ROS kicks it's butt IMO though) & two superb classic Arrow coasters with LNM & the end all be all of Arrow suspendeds with BBW & great theming so what can you really have to complain about at BGW? other than the removal of DF of course.

I don't know about the rest of you but DF was a great coaster & it's a shame it got scrapped.....at least I got the chance to experince it for my first & sadly only time.

So PKD should build a floorless coaster because you haven't been on one and you want to try it? I want Paramount to start building B&Ms again as much as the next guy, but they can't just cater to you. After building an inverting flat thrill ride in 2005, I think it's an excellent decision to build something that most of the family can ride with its moderately low height requirement, themed experience, lack of inversions, and smaller drops. It sounds good for PKD to take lines down from their last launched coaster experiment and opens up for an even broader audience.

I wouldn't complain about a fourth launch coaster. They all have various elements. You have an enclosed Premier Mad Cobra which is themed to an alien invasion with a cobra roll, sidewinder, and corkscrew. You have an inverted Intamin launch coaster themed to an eruptive volcano with a roll out and three heartline rolls. You have the first and only US park installation of the S&S compressed air-launched coaster operating. Italian Job just adds more diversity to that collection and you already have four wooden coasters, an extended wild mouse, an Arrow looper, a Togo stand-up, a Mack Bobsled, and a Miler kiddie. I'd be thrilled with that kind of coaster collection nearby and you're not far from a B&M hyper and invert and an Intamin hyper anyways. Now I just need to finally get to PKD and SFA in addition to BGW again. =p

BatwingSFA bemoaned for the gazillionth time: "...all we've gotten [since 2001] was one water ride in the theme park & a remodeling of our waterpark."

Dude...that waterpark [and the likely additions to it next year] are going to bring in a TON of people and pay for some nice shiney coasters for you in the future. Try being a little patient, OK? It'll come in handy later in life, too.

I have SFMM as a home park and would trade for SFA any day!

You think you've got it bad? try having SFA as a homepark we havn't gotten any coasters since Batwing in 01(PKD was supposed to get it) & since then all we've gotten was one water ride in the theme park & a remodeling of our waterpark...

Please. You think you've got it bad because SFA is your home park, and PKD, which doesn't have a beemer, is less than 3 hours away?

I don't have a home park! The closest park to me is Camden, it is 3 hours away. Start whining when YOU have it that bad, jeesh.

coasterqueenTRN's avatar
No kidding. I would LOVE to have SFA as my homepark. ;-)

Well Clint, remember we have our choice of homeparks.....for me it's PKI, CP, KW, SFKK, Camden,DW.....even HW being the farthest. :-) You live a little further south from me so you can include Carowinds and PKD/BGW. :-)

-Tina

Not for much longer, Tina ;).
Your complaining about PKD not having a beemer... PCW doesnt have a beemer.. we aint go the best park either.. are coasters are the best but there fun.... I dno i still love the park thow.. and NOONE should complain about anything u should all be happy that a park is getting something new rather then closing down the hole park and u have NOTHING..... ANYTHING is better then nothing.. even if it is a bench! not every park can have a GIGA coaster or a B&M.. lifes a b*tch, Deal with it. *** Edited 8/9/2005 1:03:10 PM UTC by j_o_e_y__***

I know, Clint. I am envious. :-)

-Tina

Not complaining about it at all & SFA did make a somewhat wise choice with HH this year as it is drawing the peeps in....& yes I now think they should wait a couple more years for a coaster & fix what they've got first, have you seen how bad the maintainece has been on superman lately?

Any how this is something new for PKD so we do need to be appreciative of what they've chosen as their new attraction...I'm just more inclined to want a standard design that uses good old gravity as opposed to a launch but like I said before beggers can't be choosers.
