Just curious..when was the Coney Cyclone closed for that long a time? I don't remember seeing anything about that.

Ah. I was 6-11. The days before I had any clue there were other roller coasters besides the precious few I'd been on at Uncle Milty's and a small selection of others.

I remember my lower back still having a dull pain - over a month later. The third time I rode it in a row (2005; there was NO line, you could exit your seat and get in another) I remember thinking "yeah, that really hurt me this time." My buddy had bailed after ride #1.
It had corners in those helices. Not fun. The lift was fun only because it was very intimidating - steep (fun) loud (NOT fun) and tall (fun), but the rest was pain. RIP you rotten thing.
Vater:
The lift was nice and peaceful, though.
No, it wasn’t. It was loud as hell and when it rolled off the top there was such a racket I thought I was going to have to break in down below and retrieve something.
There were no redeeming qualities and it was so painful I never got to the boring part. I’ll admit it wasn’t the most thrilling layout.
Vater’s GIF must not be loading for you, RC.
Yes, the lift was hilariously loud. Then the 90 degree turn off the top of the lift before starting the first drop. So. Much. Wood.
Amazing that the ride’s name ended up being like the 6th worst thing about it. My last ever ride on it was in ‘04 if I remember correctly. Awful experience. I was ill for the rest of the day, my face having literally turned a dull shade of green just like the peeps in RCT.
