My local news channel WKRC local 12 ran a piece at 4 o'clock about Kings Island's Son of Beast be closed, and that the Ohio Agriculture Department is on site investigating.

Obviously the only reason Cedar Fair bought the Paramount parks was so they could close Sonny down because it was stealing all of MF's riders! ;)
I would agree, but what they didn't bargain for was the CP Curse!
Last I heard, The Beast is sinking!

Being in the minority here I will state that I am OK with SOB (I am also on KICentral). That being said, not everyone should be riding roller coasters. I have seen many people get on them that should know better then to ride.
BTW, I am not speaking of anyone here and since no real details have been released we don't know if she has a concussion or just a hypochondriac with a headache.
If Sonny were constructed on either coast, it never would have taken rider one. As it is, the ride had a good long run (and I'm happy to have ridden it with and without the loop on several occasions with only minimal loss of mental faculties). The loop should be reused, it really worked well. The rest, as they say, is history. Good riddance.
You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)
I never have ridden it, and I'd be a little miffed if it's closed for good because I was at KI several times, and it was never open on the day(s) of my visit(s). As bad as I know it must be, I'm still upset that I never got a chance to ride it. I hope it sticks around a little linger for my own personal evaluation.
Actually, the news of SOB being built was responsible for me becoming an "enthusiast." The Beast was at the time, my favorite coaster, and I randomly searched for Beast pictures, and Son of Beast is what I found. I also a website with a pale yellow background and something called "discussion forums."
Pass da' sizzrup, bro!
As crazy as this sounds, I rather enjoy a few back seat rides on Sonny whenever I get the opportunity to visit, of course I always schedule a chiropractic appointment upon my return home, but its worth it. I know I'm in the VAST majority here, but I enjoy getting the crap beaten out of me by a coaster.
