The BEST Log Ride Around!

Kennywood's Log Jammer. Going upwards after that first plunge is just too cool. Disney's Splash Mountain is the best, but that is in a different class all together, IMO.

Interesting enough, where the ohio parks kick butt in the coaster department, i think everyone would agree that the water rides could be a lot better in Ohio.

The former Kings Mills Falls was a great log ride. Maybe not the best, but it was fast paced, and at one point, the water dipped down and back up. It was a fun ride.

I like the Zoom Phloom in Wildwood NJ. Its not really themed. Just 2 nice drops, and the first takes you under the boardwalk which is very cool. For theming I really like WDW's Splash Mountain.

Kennywood's Log Jammer is 25 years old this year, and there is still NO OTHER ride which has water flowing uphill instead of a lift. For this reason alone, (not counting the fact that this is not the cookie cutter up/down flume that is so standard) the Log Jammer gets my vote.

I think that the log flume with the best theming,twists & Turns, and drops is splash mountain. Even though you dont get wet a lot I really like it because its original(well at least the first one).By the way, not to advertise, but to promote check out my message boards at http://pub101.ezboard.com/bcoasterworld .

I think, as do many others around here that the Timber Mountain Log Ride at the farm is the best! I love everything about this ride and it may be close to my favorite at the park. Only ghostrider tops it! Anyway, the lifts are super-smooth. Splash mountain's are bumpy and rough. You have to love the classic feel to this ride. The early era animatronics are cool! Did disney steal that? :) Actually Disney stole a lot of this ride, among other things from Knotts. Like the tunnel in darkness, in comparison to the laughing place drop at Splash Mtn. Anyway, I love the Timber mountain log ride! "Hey you in the log. There's rough waters ahead!" Gotta love it.

Splash mountain is also a fun log flume. This is mostly due to its great theming and music. But the final drop is like no other on a log flume. Think perilous plunge in a log! I love the up and down drop into the laughing place! What a fun ride with a pleasent storyline!

Of the ones I have been on , Dudley Do-Rights Rip Saw Falls at IOA is by far the best.

Why you ask - the surprise "train" drop, the lift through the shooting gallery, the double dip at the bottom of the big hill, awesome themeing, that cool theme song from the cartoon, and man do you get soaked.

Dudley is cool no doubt. The DL Splash Mountain rocks with the soundtrack setting the mood. But one of the best flumes I've ever been on is the log flume at Knott's Berry Farm. I dont know what the name of it is (it might just be Log Flume) but it was so sweet.

You climb up into this mountain and there are a few scenes of like miners working. Then it goes pitch black, I'm talking cant see your hand in front of your face black. You meander around for a few seconds, then WHAM! You drop about 10-15ft. It's not a long fall, but you would never know it's there. Let me tell you, this was back when I really still didnt like coasters and the like (1987) and that scared me so bad that I had to do a check for "Hershey Squirts" :) Anyway, that will remain near the top of my list because it used a very simple, but highly effective little trick to thill riders.

I don't remember the name but I always enjoyed the flume at Great Adventure. It has a couple of nice drops and a nice long float through the treetops and over the lake away from all the other rides. The oversized fantasy buildings around it are pretty cool too. giant waterwheel, giant teepee, giant wagon, etc. The splashdown is also interesting as there is a lot of variability of how wet you get.

Thank you everyone who mentioned Morey's Pier's Zoom Phloom!

While it doesn't have traditional theming, it is probably the only log flume that winds around a few dozen rides (including water slides and a Vekoma SLC) on an amusement pier that sits just feet away from the Atlantic Ocean! That alone makes it unlike any other flume ride out there! Plus, it features two great drops that dip below the pier, and it is surprisingly long!

I know the flume ride that millrace mentioned at SFGAdv, I THINK that one is the Hydro Flume (the one in the Frontier Adventures section of the park)... that is also a very good ride because of the way it takes you out to the middle of nowhere and back.

And don't forget the Log Flume at Knoebels... that one is very good too... a lomg ride and very compact!

Hydro Flume?! That doesn't ring a bell at all. come to think of it, I don't ever remember knowing the name to it. Everyone always calls it Log Flume.

Last time i looked and according to all the websites with SFgadv info,it is now called the sawmill log flume,i can't recall if this is always what they called it.My pet Peeve with SFgadv,all the ride name changes over the years!And while i see some NJ residents posting under this topic,Anyone ever ridden the log flume on the boarwalk in Seaside heights??? It's not there anymore and i didn't hear who bought it.It didn't compare to wildwood because it didn't go under the boardwalk but,it was still a good flume too and,i'm wondering where it has relocated to.Anyone know?

I'd have to say Splash Mountain or the Zoom Flume at Morey's Piers.

I remember that flume at Seaside Heights, it was on Funtown Pier, right next to that small looping coaster that is still there. I forgot all about that one... it was a great ride, too... the whole thing was above the pier, and it ran parallel to the ocean at one point. I know it was dismantled and as far as I know, it was sold, not destroyed. As to where it is, perhaps someone else knows and is willing to share?

As Rickyswmn said, the ride names at SFGAdv change often... I think that flume was called the Hydro Flume, but I could be thinking of the one that was on the other side of the park (the one that became intertwined with Adventure Rivers when it was built).

I really enjoyed and loved the aforementioned flumes at Waldameer, Kennywood, the Great Escape, Holiday World, Hershey, BGW, SFGAd,
and especially Wildwood, but judging by Dawg
