The BEST Log Ride Around!

that is NOT a log flume.
SFoT's was the first log flume in the world, but not a very good one.

Sorry to disagree with you, but Splash Mountain at Disneyland Gets you much wetter, and it is much funner, in my mind
the timber mountain log ride at knotts is by far the best flume ride around
I did not find timber mountain to thrilling!

We are the few, The proud, We are the ride Engineers!!!!!
I liked what PKI did to their log flume ride when they converted it to Thornberrys. The themeing is silly and the water is crystal clear. The worst log flume was at SFWoA. The water on that ride as a scary brown color. Just the thought of getting splashed by it grosses me out.
Splash Mountain at WDW is a really fun experience for me. That would have to be my favorite.

But what a transformation for PKI's Kings Mill flume! It's ten times better due to the clean water. The theming, I think, is almost Disney quality. That was one of the best moves PKI has made in a long time.

An excellent flume seldom mentioned is the one at Holiday World. No themeing except the beautiful woods and the deer grazing under the coasters, but unusual in that most of the ride is before the lift."

I agree! Frightful Falls is one of my favorite rides to hit at HW. It's usually a walk-on and sometimes you don't even have to leave the boat to ride over and over again. The drops gets your stomach, which is the whole point isn't it? Plus, those little logs are so much fun to rock and scare fellow passengers (if they are friends). The park as a whole is just nice. It's a good time for everyone, including us coaster fans. And come on, free drinks!

We are the ones who wait in line for hours for a 45-second thrill, and consider it time well spent.
The Deer Park Plunge at SFoG is great. It goes under its ownn structure many times, you get real wet, and it is right next to the Georgia Scorcher. On a whole bunch of the Scorcher's turn-arounds, the trains fly right at the Log Flume, giving a fantastic photo op. Also, SFoG's log Flum has a on-ride photo, a nice little extra touch.

Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw falls is the best. All you people saying that Splash Mountain at WDW is the best are wrong. First of all it sucks, second it is not a log ride! It has a high capacity bout like Jurassic Park, so you can't count it.

Coaster Vu- I can see that your parents sure did not teach you any manners what so ever. Please grow up because we here at coasterbuzz don't like to read garbage like that. If you are going to say something sucks, at least have something to back it up.
Dudley Doo Right and Jurassic Park at IOA. Both are the best hands down. U may say Jp isn't a log flume but it has water, and it is kinda like a log ride so i'm counting it! The end of DDR is the best! Going underthat house and it looks like it breaks as you go under it! GREAT!!!!

I'll have to go with Timber Mountain Log Ride as well, I like how it goes in and out of the moutain.

I have to go with one from outside the USA and it is Nightmare Niagra at American Adventure. It is taller than most coasters i have been on and is above a lake and drops steeply. The fact the whole thing feels like it is falling apart only adds to the ride.

Splash Mountain is without a doubt my favorite. I don't even think the log ride at KBF is even comparable to it. In my opinion it has crap theming, crap drops, but it does get you significantly wet. Also, I enjoy Splash Mountain's queue line much more. I don't really even like this ride that much, but Splash Mountain is by far the best log flume I've ever been on.

I recognize that it is not the most thrilling ride in the park, but it is perhaps the most well done. The theming is awesome!
Has anyone else noticed the pine smells in the forest parts of the ride? That is too cool.
I also like that it makes a nice landmark from any angle in the park. It doesn't seem to strange to see it next to Supreme Scream or Jaguar, it just looks good.
One last point: I think that this ride is a classic because if it were built today, people would still think it is a great ride, better than most modern log flumes!

On a seperate note, SFMM's log jammer is cool because you are actually floating through a REAL forest! That is kind of neat theming in itself.

I'll second that!

What's next at Knott's? Anyone know?
I've got 2 things to say...
sfne guy: JPRR and the reccomended log flumes mentioned here both get you wet, have drops, and have very nice theming. and of course they're just plain fun. perhaps, to paraphrase Jeff, you need to be kicked in the love sausage?

and nobody has yet mentioned the log flume (I forget the name) in Wild Bill's resort/casino in Nevada. what other log flume ride provides you with a ray gun and lets you zap random objects during the ride? I've only been there once, and I was young at the time, but it was definately a very amusing distraction.
