A very sad day. My top ten is littered with CCIs. I guess that I'm glad I still have a few of them I still need to ride, but it sucks that there won't be another Timbers, Legend or Cornball built...unless the people involved form another company of course.

You guys, I do not think that the wooden renaissaince is over. Remember, we still have GCI out there and Roller Coaster Corp. of America.

Second, Vekoma has started building their own wooden rollercoasters over in Europe and we are sure to see one of these over here in the states sooner or later.

Third, it is true that some of those CCI employees could head off and form their own wooden coaster company..

So I do not think that this is the end. Get a grip people!

Off to CP in August, Hopefully off to two other parks in July though!! YEA!!!! :-D It will be a good summer!

This probably explains why Indiana Beach seemed to be going it alone on their modifications to LoCoSuMo.

That really sucks.. Arrow, CCI.. gone?

Their influence will stay in the industry, and the people involved will too..

Perhaps for CCI's employees this isn't the beginning of the end, but just the end of the beginning

(such a good quote)

No, it's not the end of wood coasters, but it is the end of wood coasters that we love so much, at least for now. GCI, RCCA and the others have never had the attention and praise that CCI did.

Hopefully after the divorce is over, she will continue the company under a different name? Please Denise, don't leave us!

Talk about being totally floored. This news was completely unexpected by those "Not in the know"(TM) I hope that the designers that gave us such great creations catch on somewhere else and continue to provide us with such wooden greatness as they have in the past.

Maybe it was selling those great coasters at such an inexpensive price that made this happen. or what ever... but im sad either way.

Well, we cant forget that there are several designers at CCI. It doesn't mean that they won't partner up and start a new company... but CCI as we know it is forever lost.

Wow...this is just horrible. It seems a few weeks ago after riding LoCoSuMo for the first time, I was saying "what'll these guys do next?" I'd never, never had guessed that the answer would be "nothing." :(

Well in the past whenever we lost one company we gained another. When Anton went under in the late 80's, B and M came in the early 90's. PTC quit making coasters and S and D came along, S and D closed shop (maybe not such a bad thing), CCI came along.

CCI closes shop..........

Many of those employed by S&D went to work for CCI, I am sure those working for CCI now will find a similar arrangement (yes I know it's not arranged)

Remember the thread "Expect the unexpected?" This is it for me.

I'm wondering about the current status of the New Mexico Rattler. Has it even been built yet?

I cant believe this. Now the small parks like Lake compounce, holiday world, silverwood.......What will they do next? Buying CCI's was what kept these parks alive, they were great rides at a cheep price.

If only six flags and other parks made more coasters like viper at SFGAm. Then this wouldn't be as hard of a loss.

I'm pretty sure CCI would fullfill their remaining contract with Cliff's and complete the ride before closing up completely.
