CCI closes its doors

Amusement Business reports that Custom Coasters Intl. has ceased operations, the owner citing personal reasons.

Visit AB's breaking news.

I like Raging Rider's idea.
I had a thought on the closing of CCI, however it does not really relate to the coasters itself. Does anyone really know the real reason the owners are closing the doors? Well maybe its the fact that she would like to screw her husband. However not only is she screwing him but lets think of all the employees, and venders who worked very hard for her. Come on, havent you heard the saying dont bite the hand that feeds you. Just because you are going through a divorce is bankruptcy and closing the doors to a company that so many people take care of their families with worth it. I guess your daddy taught you well. I guess morals really dont matter to you. As for the ex husband I hope he takes you to the cleaners!! Be an adult ms boss lady. Everyone thinks this company is great little do they know the background of the real people in charge. What goes around comes around. How many names are you going to change this company too? I hope all your employees get picked up by better companies that can actually pay them.

I really doubt the divorce has that much to do with it.

Furthermore, don't start making judgements about people and situations you don't know a damn thing about.

actually i know alot more than you know. I have facts and I am speaking my mind. If you dont wont the truth dont read it!!!!!!

Why else would a coaster company that is doing fine suddenly file for bankruptcy while the owners are going through a divorce. Maybe you should get facts before you criticize me!!!!!!!!

i'm sorry to hear that. its really a shame

You know they'll be back with a different name. Come on now. Personal reasons? Same coasters with a different name. Thats my prediction.

You know a lot more than I do? Then why do you make a post and delete your account? What are you hiding?

And who said the company was doing fine? What do you know about their finances? I'm guessing exactly zero.

I do know about there finances. Why dont you ask why the employees are not getting paid for work they have already done. As for deleting my account maybe I am closer to the inside sources than you could know. I would not!!! write things as aweful as some of the things she has done if i didnt know it for a fact. These employees were assured there jobs were fine to only be told a week later heres your walking papers. What about all the venders that she owes money too think about how they got ripped off then you say just open under a different name, well I dont think I would want to work with or for someone that would look right at me and lie. Its time for a new career.

Anyone who makes personal attacks toward someone anonymously in a public forum when they know that person will not or can't respond is a spineless worm with an agenda.

Don't tell me about losing jobs... not only did a good friend of mine work there, but I've been through it before. And I am one of their vendors, thanks.

7/27: Subdivision Cam becomes party cam at the year's hottest Ohio luau!

Okay Coasterlady ... here's a post with THE facts :

#1 CCI has not filed for bankruptcy. That was a rumor going around before the announcement the other day. They have "closed their doors" but they have not filed for bankruptcy.

#2 Do not criticize her divorce. Any husband who goes after half of a corporations holdings is just hitting below the belt. Family is family, and business is business. Corporate holdings should never be settled in a divorce court. If I was her lawyer, I may very well have advised her to do the same thing ... and that's me remaining a coaster fan.

#3 Employees, at the most, were held for one pay-period over what they were paid for. I know, for a fact, that the previous payroll for the home office was met. I do not know if she pays employees in advance or not, like many corporations do, but losing a week of pay is a risk taken when working for anyone.

#4 From what I hear, its the employees who caused the comapany's financial troubles. Engineers who over engineered rides, placing orders for parts that are well past the needs of any contemporary coaster.

#5 All of the employees in New Mexico, for THE NEW MEXICO RATTLER are now being paid by Cliff's. They've contracted them directly and will have the coaster open before this summer's end. BRAVO CLIFF'S!!

The fact of the matter is, I KNOW I'm more inside on this whole situation than anyone here (no offense meant to anyone), and even I don't have the FULL STORY, and I prolly never will. But there is no plus side or benefit to slamming a perfectly good person and a classic company just because someone you know is pissed off and telling you one side of the story.

Good evening to all ...

As someone who has not only ridden CCI built Rampage at VisionLand, but has also operated it, I was shocked to hear that CCI was closing it's doors. Out of all the coaster companies, CCI seemed to finally be the answer to a new wave of wooden coasters, and their contributions to the coaster world will be missed.
CCI will be greatly missed, I really enjoyed the Raven and the Legned. I hope that this doesn't put a damper on the future of wooden Coaster's
