This is just wrong. I've been to both, and have no real bias toward either, but then again, I like one a lot better than the other, and can that really be considered non-biased?
First off, Cedar Point and SFMM are in two completely different regions of this fine country. Secondly, Connor, Jesus... Let's act a little more mature than that, shall we? There was a point in my life that I thought going to IOA would suck because there weren't enough coasters, and the theming was too childish. Boy, was I ever wrong.
On this ride thing, SFMM has 15. So freakin' what? Let's count the decent ones, shall we (and I'll even give the new Boomy the nod here).
Goliath
Riddler's Revenge
Deja Vu (leap of faith)
'X'
Superman: The Escape
And at Cedar Point:
Mantis
Raptor
Millennium Force
Magnum XL-200
Gemini (Yes, this is a hidden treasure)
So the final factor happens to be quality, not quantity, and don't go shoving Viper down my throat either. You just don't understand. The kiddy coaster was simply a ploy to get the record. Nix that. The Boomerang 2 was a ploy to get a record. Slow and steady wins the race. I think the problem with SFMM's idea of the park would be, of course, to plop stuff wherever.
Six Flags will not allow the huge budget to go to SFMM every year now. CP will most likely get one or two next year, pushing it over the top. SFMM needs nothing. They have 15 coasters, and really, none would make it on my top 10 list of rides.
CP fans, unite under me and don't feel threatened. SFMM's rides will be scrutenized more than any other, and they will bring their own set of problems to life. CP will answer with something big next year, and trust me, they don't like being second to a park with a bunch of second-rate, many times out of operation rides. Attractions aren't everything. When's the last time anyone said they were going to Holiday World or Islands of Adventure for their sheer number of rides?
Can I please say this last thing? I've been to both, SFMM is not a bad park, but I'm defending the better park. Not because of extreme bias, but because of the quality of my experiences.
