"Ok, I thought people were serious."

Some are, some aren't, therein lies "the rub", so to speak... :)

As to "stealing" any thunder from another ride, that's a bunch of bull.

See, some aren't "serious". They're the FUN ones... :)

I'll likely be making a *journey* to both of these...since I'm famous, it might even be a "star" trek... ;)

You may groan now... ;)

No one got the memo on the drink refill station on that turnaround, eh?

Although a face full of soft drinks at that speed might be slightly painful.

Better soft drinks than gravy! Anyways, possible that they're replacing the 90 degree bank out near the turnaround with an overbank?

Perhaps I'm wrong but I have a feeling some of you are over-thinking this "new element" that Paula spoke of. By new I think she meant "not on the original plans" and not "never before done on a wood coaster."

Just my hunch. I've been wrong before, tho ;)

Well, being as Paula said in this very thread:

Please try not to obsess over the word "new." This is not a never-before-heard-of element.

I'd say you're right, Moosh. :)

Wasn't there already a pic of the reverse banked turn thingamabobbit on the Holiblog? I remember Paula saying something about something in the picture and saying 'That wasn't in the origional design'.

So perhaps this is something different.

Thanks, Paula. We knew you wouldn't steer us in the wrong direction.

Paul, For your "enjoyment"...Here's a link to the original post by Beast Fan (6/5 at 7:27 and beyond)about how it would be disrespectful to take the longest wooden coaster record from Beast.

So by that logic, it was disrespectful to build a ride taller or faster than "Magnum."

This is a business, if people can take a record and it means more money for them you'd better believe they will do it.

Has there been any indication if and when the 'surprise' will be revealed?

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

My guess is that Will & Paula will unveil it on The Voyage's opening day. You know how they love a surprise.

The Beast has held the record for longest wood coaster for nearly 30 years. Magnum's record was broken not too long after it was built. Totally different situations.

Oh please let's not get started with the whole "not classy" bit again. That is just utter nonsense.

As long as you're green, you're growing. As soon as you're ripe, you start to rot.
--Ray Kroc

That record may be getting ripe!

As for the new element. A helix would be feasible as welll as some reverse banking or overbanking. At this stage it could be anything, but I have the feeling that Paul is right about us not knowing anything more until May 6. (How many days away is that Paul?)

Think about it for a moment ... if we waited until May to announce the additional element, then all the press kits and other information materials I send out over the winter would be incorrect.

No, we won't wait that long.
