Did anyone hear the new news on The Voyage?

LOL Paul ;) I'm glad someone is counting!
I've got a counter on my desktop that counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until that blessed day.

Paula, how dare you inject logic into this discussion? You've been reading Internet discussions long enough that by now you should know that it Just Isn't Done That Way...! :)

Idiote moi.

Yeah, we're not looking for FACTS here Paula. And we're certainly not in the market for logic, either.

Of course people will always build bigger, faster, better, and longer. I believe the just of things was that building a full 7500-ft coaster is not a problem. Building an "effective 6000-ft. coaster with 1500 ft. of boring extra run at the end" JUST to get the record would be 'unclassy'. Not that HW would do such a thing. They dont care as much about the 'records and numbers' as they do about the ride experience. Oh if only more parks thought like that.

I hear that you might even get to learn more about the change on a forthcoming podcast. So I hear.

Jeff - Editor - CoasterBuzz.com - My Blog

Well, I have been away from Coasterbuzz for a little while, the IP address is blocked at the moment on my other connection. It seems I have started a well liked buzz.

When I was referring to El Toro and the expenses, I was referring to the drop in the same aspect as one would refer to the SOB loop. They spent so much time and money working on that loop that the rest of the coaster suffered and thats what I fear for El Toros drop.

Yes, a company would not purchase a coaster with money on hand. However in the same fashion I would not buy a home without at least 10% down, or being able to show my banker a worthy credit rating or collateral or a solid business plan. No banker that did any form of study on the companies worthiness would have coughed up the cash, and that is why I don't understand how they can afford it, or why I have yet to apply for a massive loan with their financial institutions.

They could have used this mass amount of money to clean up some of their parks (achewKentuckyKingdomachew) . They could have used it to fix their staff training problems. You know fix the franchise, not just salt the French Fries.

Its nice to know that new no longer means new, but now means unmentioned. I feel so underpromised, wait how does HW remedy that again!!! I doubt it will be some strobe effect , because that could cause some serious motion sickness, and not to mention seizures. A waterfall? maybe added to the back of the Raging Rapids, that would be nice.

I doubt an inline twist, thats still odd on steel coasters. It was just my dream of a corkscrew, but I could definately see a helix there at the very end just before it hits the station. Also a reverse bank would be nice, I am not really sure where it would be at, I don't think it would be extremely difficult to change, I just hope its not in a tunnel. *** Edited 11/15/2005 10:08:18 PM UTC by woohooboy***

Mind you, even a tiny difference, such as that between 0 and 0.000126, can make a world of difference.

Woah! Dude, how about editing that and breaking it into paragraphs?
"New" still means "new," in that it was just added to the design recently. (Three weeks ago.)

"New" was being misinterpreted by some to mean "never before featured on a wooden coaster."

Hope this clears up the misunderstanding once and for all. (But I'm not holding my breath.)

Paula did not over promise. The way she said it was the way you should say it.

That must be a clue - it's the first underwater element on a woodie!

The more I think about it the more I DO NOT want a helix at the end of The Voyage. The ending as it is depicted in the video and renderings are very disorienting and look like a lot of fun. Adding a helix at the end of the ride would make the ride more predictable. For example the last four turns on the Legend and the Raven's "S" turn are disorienting and add a sense of speed. Thus adding to the ride experience.
A solar-plexus twist? How 'bout stocking one of the tunnels with bats? :)
Let's think about this for a minute. Maybe what they are going to do is not related to the trackwork at all but maybe it is a special effect. The way Paula loves to tease us with little clues in her responses and she spoke about "holding her breath". A voyage pertains to a ship traveling on top of the water. Maybe it will have a point that it will cross a small body of water. The ride might also come in contact with water, as in a waterfall or being sprayed with water, simulating a boat being hit by a wave, most riders would hold their breath.

Just a little brainstorming. Anyone have other thoughts? Paula, any comments to drive us even crazier? LOL

Brian

You know ... you're driving *yourselves* crazy.

I got nuttin' to do with it!

Idle minds do terrible things ;)

I would love to have a tunnel that would go under a water ride with a see through top so you could look up into the ride above you. Of course that ride would have to have a clear bottom so you could see up into it :)

Watch the tram car please....

How can we drive ourselves to somewhere we already are, Paula? ;)
