Did anyone hear the new news on The Voyage?

What a coincidence!

I just *wrote* on the Holiblog that Will Koch will be on the Podcast this week and will explain everything.

Will wonders never cease... :)

My interpretation of the new element, what I believe to be a helix, sorry about the crappy artwork (I made it with paint). By the way, a helix added into the turnaround would give time to slow down the speed a little because, I am guessing, they underestimated the average speed of this monster. *** Edited 11/17/2005 3:22:18 AM UTC by mike.s.***

Underestimated the speed? I can assure you they know what the speed will be in a 5 mph range throughout the course.

Interesting idea but I'd want it kept close to the ground rahter than higher so it keeps as much of its speed as possible.

Underestimated the speed? Maybe they're making it up as they go along. ;)

[somewhere in an underground labratory in Santa Claus...]

"Okay, the train will be traveling somewhere between, ohhhh let's say, 30-60mph. We have just exited from a cool camelback hill type element the was underground and banking the wrong way. What should we do next?"

"Umm, sir"

"Yes."

"There's a tree in the way, sir."

*thinks*

"Go left! Duh. and over! But put, like, a twist in it somehow."

[pause]

"Okay sir." [shrugs]

"And a triple down in a tunnel! One that kinda sorta goes to the left a little bit."

Oh, that was *you*!

(I'd heard they'd had to flush a vagrant out of Tunnel #1.)

So Paula, how does it feel to have the coaster causing the most buzz so far at your park? I just want to say I'll have to hate you for riding it before all of us ;).
Who says I'm riding that thing?! :)

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll give you plenty to hate in late April.

I can see it now.. an on-ride movie, not of a POV but of Paula riding it saying "Tekno, this one's for you!"

"Life's What You Make It, So Let's Make It Rock!"
What's happening in April? Inquiring minds want to know.

This looks pretty, I really like the gold trim :)

What gold trim? The wood thats going to be covered up by diamond plate steel? The trim going over the top of the nose and sides is silver.

Chuck

To just clear that up? I wonder why PTC can't add some sand to the varnish on it's sideboards and get rid of that diamond plate all together. It was one of the few things that gave them Box sleds some charm.

Is that another pun?

As long as the new element is not a trim, we're golden.

pwnd ;)

Honestly I'm just curious. I've never been to HW (blasphemy, I know...) but the hubby and I are taking a trip out next summer. You've all converted me!

I agree. Anything else on this bad boy is graaaaavy. ;)

Watch out for flying maps!

Well come on Kenmel. Come to the Holiwood Nights event for some extensive night rides. You truelly haven't ridden these coasters till you do it at night.

They are very good anytime but coasting from 9-midnight or later is the only way to fly Raven Air.

Okay, I give...

What does "pwnd" mean?

Paula

From the Urban Dictionary:

pwnd: An internet chat language variety/version of the word "owned", used in the sence of beating/defeating/outclassing someone. Usually used in games such as Counter-strike or on messageboards when a user posts arguments or insults that can't possibly be counter-argued.

I can see pwnd in the next press release. ;)
