Can someone tell me, or show me rather, what a reverse bank turn is?

A reverse bank is where the track banks opposite of what feels natural on a turn. In other words on Hades reverse bank turn the track is banked as though you would be turning right but you actually are turning left. It is a very odd sensation.

"Jebus, am I the ONLY person who understands the flaw of SOB's loop?"

Snzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

When will the incessantly boring rants about SOB stop showing up in seemingly every single wooden coaster thread?

We're up to 6 years of arguing over that loop now. Bottom line... it serves it's purpose. It pushed the envelope and gained the park notoriety.

Love or hate SOB, PKI went no-holds-barred. Speaking of which... back to Holiday World... who is seemingly going no-holds-barred with Voyage.

Yeah but when PKI's two strongest backers say they will no longer ride SOB, Thats saying something.

Chuck, who's brother has over 400 rides on it and says it was too rough in august to ride.

See what I mean? When discussing wooden coasters... consistantly the conversation turns to include SOB over and over.

Great publicity if you ask me.

Yeah, among the 0.000000000000001% of people in the world who actually discuss wooden coasters. ;)

Well, since it does get discussed between the .000000000000001%, and we all know how much that .000000000000001% likes to share its opinions every time they can get a chance to say something about coasters, so I say that a lot of people hear about SOB because of it. ;)

"Reversed banked turn" is the mine-train equivalent on a wooden coaster. The coaster TURNS right, but BANKS left. Really *intense* lateral airtime....think of the "throw" to the right entering KG's Twister's helix... :)

Well, Hades is more of a little Moosh moment and not a Moosh slamma jamma that Knoebels Twister helix offers. Just weird.

Chuck, who loves them Just wrong moments :)

Now that I know what a reversed banked turn is, can anyone explain "trick track"?

Life is an amusment park -and I can't get off of the damn spinning teacups!

It is a banked section of straight track. ST has a section on the return trip.

Not too likely since this element is actually in the tunnel on Hades. It is positioned in a way that you can't photograph it from inside the park or from the parking lot. I don't know of anyone outside of the park personnel and builders who have been able to walk inside that tunnel.

That a section of straight track that banks left or right then to the opposite banking and finally back to normal. It is on Shivering Timbers but I thought it was hardly noticeable.

Heres the reverse bank, Its a hump comming off a left hand turn, Note the track is banking to the RIGHT. The view is of the coaster comming at you.

Just a question what's all of this stuff about not making a coaster longer than The Beast or any other record holder out of respect? Weren't records meant to be smashed? If people were so concerned with respecting the previous record holder we'd all still be riding exact copies of the first LA Thompson switchback becaise no one would have gone bigger, longer or faster "out of respect".

As to "stealing" any thunder from another ride, that's a bunch of bull.

I wouldn't mind seeing the third hill being made steeper than the big bull being built in the east. It wouldn't be "stealing" anything if the thing to be stolen didn't exist yet, would it?

Honestly, right now I could care less. I was going to be there early next year to ride the coaster that appears to offer just about everything I could want in a woodie. IMO it didn't need anything more, but I'll take whatever it is with no objections. Unless, of course, someone gets their sick dream of an inversion on this beauty. You people are just evil! :)

No, but the original post that the joke comes from did say that.

So your retort is still valid. :)
