Well the one good thing about a early announcement is that it's something big. I think Legend started construction, at least clearing almost a full year before opening.

Will, Being the never miss a opening guy with a new attraction certainly wants to get going on this one.

Chuck, who has to endure the torture for another month and a few days :)

Free stew, Chuck? ;)

From the most recent blog:

"You'll be able to share next year's gift with her. In fact, she'll insist."

My guess, knowing Pat, is that she's wished for the one flat ride most sorely missing from the park. One that people of all ages can enjoy together. One that thrills the youngest of children while their grandparents ride nearby, reminiscing the days of their youth when they rode one at the park in their hometown. One that has been and continues to be a staple of -- and center point of -- amusement parks for almost 100 years.

A carousel!

If I'm right, Paula, I only have one three words for you:

brass rings, please!

A carousel is big, really big? It requires selective removal of all those trees? It will be completely unique? (I guess it could sort of be unique in the decorations, but they are all pretty much the same ride. *runs for cover*) I don't think that is it, unless they are getting more than one thing. *** Edited 5/5/2005 8:26:28 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

RavenTDD - how many new additions has HW added the last few years? One, or more than one? Even if they are getting a new coaster since when does that preclude getting other new rides?

I think "more than one thing" is a virtual certainty at this point. Splashin' Safari will continue to grow, and there's definitely SOMETHING afoot on the HW side of things...

Brass rings certainly DO add that special touch to a carousel....and brass rings *could* be redeemed for, I dunno, free soda...oops! ;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

I beg to differ about the length of your torture, Chuck. The torture will only just BEGIN in a month and a few days. The real torture is going to be watching this 'expansion' get built bit by tiny bit until we get to ride -err- experience it.
whatever IT is.

It was never clarified that it is on the HW side of things.

Matter of fact, The pic Paul took was kinda SS oriented. Like I said, The old petting zoo isn't that big a area but that whole hillside is.

People must be overlooking cinco de mayo.

Chuck, who just don't thing a Octoberfest with drinking extablishments is HW style.

And the industry will have to catch up with another HW innovation...;)

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

You forgot free locker rentals! They have that bucket of quarters and pay for you to lock up your stuff while you ride Raven, Legend, and next year: Son of Raven and Legend.

Did anyone notice June 16 is smack dab in between Flag Day and Father's Day? Why June 16 I wonder. Hmmm...this riddle is so good and perplexing all at the same time.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

My guess on the date is that they just picked 6 weeks out because that is how much time they needed for whatever. It is exactly 6 weeks out and that seems to be some generic business timeframe sometimes used for whatever reason.
