The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

Easter is so commericalized anymore that they could pull it off at the park. Shoot, who wouldn't want to meet both Santa and the Easter Bunny in one day?

Hey John JESUS is the reason for every season, unfortunately I doubt the pastels that are usually associated with Easter would fit well in the park. St. Pattys Day would not fit, it seems like too much of a drunken holiday to fit with the family atmosphere. I remember I suggested an April Fools Day section several years ago, its not an actual Holiday but I thought it would not be very difficult to theme, but I also have thought that was one of my worse ideas. I still say to this day they need a hand carved carousel.

I think if they were to add a section the only 2 possible holidays would be

1. New Years Day ( could have a lot of thrill rides that are usually only seen at state fairs, and finally attract the 15-21 crowd they have lacked on for several years)

2. Valentines Day ( could have a lot of couples rides, and a small day care center which would really make this a real Family Park)

But what do I know, you have to have a college degree just to have a good idea, and then everyone scrutinizes and makes it their idea just because they are in charge. I just want a little credit if someone uses my idea, so I can give all the glory to God.

Would it help to point out that the HoliBlog post for May 5th is titled "Three Shall be as One"? I believe that is also how a Christian would describe God using...you guessed it...the Shamrock. I love a good mystery.

OK, so I must be the only person that noticed RM state "that must be a winner"

What page of this thread did she say that on? I can't seem to find it.

Anyone up for a swim?

Well there was a new post in the HoliBlog about the mystery today.....the mystery should be all but over with now.

Wood? What a shocker!

It's for that new outhouse off the employee lot. Duh.

So...we should assume that HW is building a lumber mill so that the *individually-harvested* trees can be sent out for use in construction projects all over Southern Indiana?

Maybe not...;)

Gosh, Bill...you figured it out!

Okay Jeff. You're going to hold out till the bitter end. I admire your resolve. But I'm glad I did not bet on the steel supports. ;) :)

edit: That's so weird. RM and I posted the same second and her post shows before mine but she also shows as last poster. *** Edited 5/10/2005 7:08:17 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

Well I must say that so far that is definitely not enough wood there for a wood supported coaster. But I am not betting on it either way. Just thought I would try to keep the thread moving.
Well I think its a pretty safe bet that we have a wooden coaster in a new St. Patrick's Day area. Sounds good to me (but is there more?).

I guess GG used some wood at the beginning of vertical construction of Hades, but I still think it will be wood supports.

I do wonder what the yellow machinery is. Anyone have any ideas?
Bulldozer or one of those earth-mover super-shovel things. *** Edited 5/10/2005 7:33:24 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

You mean a backhoe? Or a backhohoho? :)

Yes, I figured it out Paula....notice the shiny new sig? ;)

Honestly, lumber delivery trucks can't CARRY enough lumber for a wooden coaster....unless it's like a model or something...;)

Bill - you never fail to get "groans" with your puns do you? ;)

Paula - you are "tochering" me with your little "clues". Loving every minute of it and we (MiG) are looking forward to our My 31st visit to the park.
