I'm glad you did too, because your membership renewal is going to cost you $40. :)

Okay Jeff. You're going to hold out till the bitter end. I admire your resolve. But I'm glad I did not bet on the steel supports.

If the price of steel is so high right now, is it still cheaper to build a steel supported woodie, as opposed to an all-wood woodie???
Like MIA getting Timbers for 4 million. I believe the cost of building it was 7 million and CCI had to eat it due to contract.
Whatta i know?
More detailed clues up on Holiblog!
Chuck, who enojoys constructive corrections :)

And for sake of not postwhoring, My prediction is yet another awesome woodie. Or a whole new section. *** Edited 5/11/2005 4:10:58 AM UTC by thepinkdoomofmonkeys***
Holiday World should track down the steel from Drachen Fire and Shockwave (They have RINs for coasters, right?), fuse the steel together and whola...
The roughness/poor engineering of both coasters will offest eachother, the paint scheme almost matches, and since transitions don't matter on old ARROWS, Holiday World has an infinte choice of element orders.

Remember those posters that said, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life?" Well, that's true for every day but one - the day you die.

Don't think we will ever know for sure. I do know it seemed like the steel supported coasters cost more than the wood when CCI was building them.
I believe the thinking actually is that steel structured woodies ARE more expensive to build initially, but have lower maintenance costs since you don't need to work on the supports as often.

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."
Look directly under the second car in this pic.
Lower left in this pic shows the "L" supporting steel on wood.
You can see two in the lower right in this pic and then a few more on the other side of the track near the middle in back of the train.
Look directly under the lower left hand corner of the first car in this pic.
This one is tough to see. If you go the large upraised arm on the right and go down, you should find one in this pic.
There are two in this pic that are a bit hard to see. Lower left in the plant and just right of it under the track.
There are two in this pic that look yellowish; one upper left and one lower left.
In this pic across the bottom where angled supports butt up too the supports for the hand rail, there are similar braces but they are not 90 degrees.
Another one that is hard to see, but in this pic, if you go to the middle bottom and go up the support to right under the track, you can see the bottom half on one. You can sort of see where there would be another on on the next vertical support to the right.
Yet another tough to see one. This pic looks like it has some rusted ones under cross supports down the hill.
More rusted ones on the same coaster in this pic, but much more clear making it clear what is in that last pic. Again they are under the cross supports under the track, this time on the outside of the turn.
In the lower left in this pic and you will find two under cross supports under the track. Go straight up from the "r" in copyright and from the "M" in MMI. Here is another shot of the same ones.
Second support from the lower left in this pic, again right under a cross support below the track
There are several in this pic that are a little tough to see because of the paint. They are again under the cross supports under the track both where the train is and the outrun to the left.
Under the cross supports under the track in this pic on the far right you can see some that appear to be a tad longer than the others.
The ones in this pic are very tough to see, but again they are under the cross supports under the track. I never would have seen them if I did not know where to look from other pics.
The ones in this pic are painted but can be seen. Again under the cross supports under the track.
And the one I posted orginally. On the second pic on this page I can find 6 of them at least. The easiest to see is in the upper right hand corner.
Here are some examples of long steel supports supporting wood supports:
Look under the supports directly below the track in this pic.
More in this pic and there is one of those small "L" from the first list above supporting that steel "I" beem to a wood support.
You can see some of those longer steel supports in the "under the track supports" on the left in this pic.
Of course this pic was posted earlier.
And just for fun, here is what a stack of wood for a CCI woodie looks like. *** Edited 5/11/2005 5:47:31 AM UTC by RavenTTD***

But seriously, I think that whatever the new expansion is, it will be bigger and much better than anything we have seen before.
She says "winner" on page 6 - April 27 - I believe it was at 10:50 am, I could be wrong though.
RavenMaven, I will announce who I am on June 17th. But stay tuned for clues... ;)
