Has Cedar Point gotten a little too full of themselves?

Now cocky is what I would describe as my home park (M&Ds, Scotland) using the stats and pictures of Dragon Khan to promote their rough as heck Pinfari Tornado coaster :o

The real question is: WHICH one? ;)

edit: As far as their advertising "working"...meh, lots of companies advertise, in fact almost ALL of them. Sometimes it nets them a *one time customer*. If the customer leaves HAPPY, then they come back. Return visitors bring friends, and cash...which CF/CP *does* know how to invest.

The BEST advertising has always been, and will always be, word of mouth...

But I still say CF should get rid of that web guy...;) *** Edited 4/11/2005 3:02:23 PM UTC by rollergator***

Did Galvan316 delete his account?

Why can't I help thinking of some BS overblown CP quotable for the moment? Like uh...

Seriously, how many of these threads do we constantly see? Everything just turns into a big argument between CP and some other park. We all have our own opinion on which is better. What else does it matter? Like everyother thread that compares CP to something else, WHO CARES? *** Edited 4/11/2005 3:10:14 PM UTC by Dragster***

Thanks again, Jeff, for re-opening. I also needed a Monday chuckle or two.

CP's advertising works on so many different levels.
Maybe they WANTED people to become worked up over the ads...and then people like Galvan316 come along and complain about it...He's just getting CP more noticed!

....reverse psychology in a way. ;)

Wow! I wasn't aware that CP only had four or five good coasters. I guess I've been wasting my time riding all of the others. ;)

Six Flags had a bit of a backfire when they had "testimonies" claiming that SFWoA was better than the park to the west.

Of course, we all knew the lack of legitimacy to that claim.

Also CP was a "holy-er than art thou" place in northern Ohio, a local true-blue company running a great park that eveyone likes. So when a chain comes in from out of town, buys two loved parks, then says that they are the best, and slams CP, well, it's like G4 buying TechTV and then saying gamming programming is what people want and treat the loyal TechTV customers like idiots and throw them away. It was bad planning on Six Flag's park....

Oh yeah, building the tallest coster on the planet twice while Six Flags was there helped too. :) *** Edited 4/11/2005 7:41:12 PM UTC by The Mole***

Comcast is clearly run by 14-year-old kids, thus the demise of TechTV. I'd love to ask them if they though those ring tone ads would net as much ad revenue as the Oracle and BMW ads TechTV used to run. Morons.

Slightly on topic, the first Geauga Lake ad has started to air:

^^^ The final nail in the coffin for TechTV was the renaming and retooling of The Screensavers. It had gotten worse since the departure of Leo LaPorte, but it is truly unwatchable as "Attack of the Show". And, yes, those ring tone ads suck.

Certain victory.
