Heh, yeah! Can we get the 2005 registration forms online by the end of next week?

Probably break 300 in attendance next year!

In that case, I'll be the first person to fly into the country (14 hour flight) for the event, then promptly fly out the next morning. :)

After looking at the longform video (amazing job, Keith!) I noticed the "staircase sequence".
I somehow think that this effect will be simulated by the cars itself. I guess that they are capable of either rattling your seats (as in a 4d cinema) or the whole chassis will vibrate.
Any idea anyone?

In preparation for an upcoming article for an amusement related magazine I was told by this Paramount official that the full spec sheet for IJ will not be released until Spring '05.

What I was able to get was that there will be 3 launches (one of them a booster launch), 3 car trains, top speed of 40mph. No height or length specs will be released anytime soon. They want to keep us guessing!

This will be a designed in a joint effort by Premier Rides, BMW & Paramount D&E (Charlotte).

I actually liked the Italian Job movie. Is that so bad? ;) I think its good to see new concepts, and theming for a coaster. PKI & PCW will have a hit on their hands. I am already looking forward to Coasterbuzz 2005.

When I was spoking to Jeff Siebert, he told me that the height and length specs are not known currently and will not be known until next spring. You bet that I will be checking on progress of this ride during -sob- long cold winter.

Park management, Premier Rides and VIP are probably laughing at it right now...but I think I made quite an accurate layout of these rides.

You pretty much got it, I mean based on the long version of the vid.

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!

How crazy would it be if the cars started spinning to create a "skid out/donut" effect...!?!?

King's Island seems to be constantly building rides that I really want to ride...Delirium, Tomb Raider, and now this. These kind of rides speak to me of the future of theme/amusement parks: they are easily marketable, get media attention, and don't push the limits of what humans can stand on a coaster! Kudos to PKI (my heart will still always be with TTD however).

Paramount is once again proving that you don't need the tallest, fastest, or most record breaking coaster to make it in the amusement park, sorry, theme park business. They have a great park that can be enjoyed by nearly any demographic. This ride also shows the commitment to making PKI a premier Theme Park destination. Everyone wanted hollywood and that is what was delivered. I for one will be there. Although had the announment been a IJ themed La'rosa pizza cart I would have been there also. lol

I don't buy that there will only be three trains. The thing has at least six blocks, and there's no way in hell they're going to run a ride that long (in terms of time) with three 12-seat trains.

Park Reps indicated yesterday that the ride will operate with 3 trains.

Even if they said it, I don't believe it. Assuming even a one minute dispatch interval, that's 720 pph. Tomb Raider even does better than that!

Good to see a high speed coaster attraction going in. I guess my 4 year layoff from PKI will end next year. This ride looks awesome.

After A Cedar Point trip I don't think 60mph is High speed. I still can't wait to ride this Universal type ride though.

I know that but for PKI this is a nice addition. The ride will seem faster with all the themeing, I hope.

Could they have meant operate 3 trains at a time on the track? One train between each launch ... could have upwards of 5 or 6 trains then.

La Rosa's does not need any theming. It is a draw onto itself! :-)

My guess would be at least 4 trains, maybe 5. I count at least 4 blocks maybe 5. So figure 4 trains with the extra block for spacing.

I can't wait for this ride. It sounds like a lot of fun. Just keep in mind that from news reports it is being billed as a family ride not a high speed/thrill ride. So, I wouldn't expect high speed extremes, etc. But I am still excited about this new ride/family coaster.

The steel roller coaster will be built by Premier Rides.

The ride is designed for riders 48 inches and over and is being billed as a family experience, rather than an extreme coaster.
http://www.cincypost.com/2004/08/13/ride081304.html
"You'll be able to hear the sounds of cars peeling, and hear the engines revving," said Jeffrey Siebert, the park's manager of marketing communications.

Despite the high-powered special effects, the ride is designed to be a family experience, Siebert said, geared to park guests about 7 years old and older.
