Geauga Lake ride name speculation

Well with the sale of SFWOA to Cedar Fair comes the realization that the rights to DC Comics and other Six Flags trademarks is out the window. Which rides do you think will be renamed, and what do you think the new name will be?

Here is my short list...

Superman: Ultimate Escape ---> Steel Venom (pretty much a clone of the one in MN.

Batman: Knight Flight ---> They will probably use some bird name like they did for Raptor and Talon.

Serial Thriller ---> Six Flags may have this licensed as the name is used at other parks. Is Hang and Bang too descriptive?

Mind Eraser ---> Same story as Serial Thriller. My guess is they will just go with Boomerang.

Certain victory.

What if they just lost the DC character names, but kept the rest?

B:KF becomes "Knight Flight"

S:UE becomes "Ultimate Escape"

No necessarily CF style, but it reduces any possible 'confusion' for regular visitors.

Yup. They could just be

"Floorless Coaster 1"

"Inverted Impulse Coaster 1"

That's what I'd do, but I didn't buy the park. (just about $145 million shy by my count) :)

Your suggestions for Serial Thriller, S:UE, and Mind Eraser make sense, but I have no ideas whatsoever for B:KF. I'm looking forward to hearing the different name for this in particular; it'll be strange looking at the layout, which has always been known as B:KF, and seeing a different name, and possibly a different theme as well.

The biggest question is that with B:DK name changing, don't get me wrong considering I have never visited the park but didn't the theming for that ride cost a decent amount?

What theming? Compared to the Batman:TR installations, B:KF hardly had any.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

True but I do believe there was the Batman symbol engraved in the train.

Part of the fiberglass is a Batman emblem, however, they come off if you pull them hard enough, lol ;)

Fill the emblem in with Bondo and sand.

B:KF had this "orb" thing in the queue in 2001, but it was gone in 2002 - not sure about 2003.

Other than that, I think you covered it.

How can they just take these rides, strip them of their names and themes and try to make something out of them? I think it's sad that all that will have to leave.

Zak-- The simple answer is...ownership rights. For better or worse, Six Flags has chosen to theme most of their rides based on characters that they own the rights to. It's good cross-promotion, and besides...I don't think Six Flags expected to sell off what they were beginning to consider a "flagship" park within two years of its purchase.

In any event, even though CF isn't the greatest at theming, I think the park will be in fairly good hands...and as for the original topic impetus, I agree with Gonch that they'll probably strip the character names and keep titles where they can. Just easier that way.
