Felt like conducting my own little straw poll :) What does everyone think is the scariest ride in the world? My vote goes with Oblivion at Alton Towers (hence the name) :p Has anybody ever looked at a coaster/ride and backed down at the last minute? Does anybody have any good stories of innocent looking rides that have concealed a punch far greater than their appearence suggested?
For me it was X without a doubt. I was comfortably sitting back looking at the park waiting to fall over the lift. The train starts to move faster then BAM you are racing straight down towards the ground. I can't tell you what a relief it was to be inverted upright and knowing I had made it past the first drop.

Since Jeff made Track Record a "perk" for CB members i'll just post my count here: Coasters:99 Parks:14
For me, it was Xcelerator! I wasn't scared at all waiting in line, but the launch is so fast that it's FREAKY!!! Going over the top hat was pretty scary too cause you feel like you could just fly out and plummet to your death. I was hanging on for dear life.
Also, my first time on S: TE, i was pretty scared. Don't ask me why, all you do is go up and come down, but 415ft in the air??? I got pretty scared to where I was shaking and I almost backed out.

CC1, the front-row ride on Hypersonic certainly was a scary moment (eternity) waiting to drop down the far side of the tower....it ranked right up there, esp. considering I kept the lapbar a little on the loose side - "nothing wrong with a little airtime"....;).....
Nice to see some other Beck fans out there....Beck Hanson, no relation to the other Hanson, thankfully....:)
Skycoasters all the way. I was scared to death the first time in Kobe, Japan, but the one at Valleyfair put me over the top. I don't know how Mamoosh could even verbally commit to riding the one at Kissimmee:)
