What's the scariest ride you've ever been on?

I was in Vienna Austria and I went to a park called Prater. It is known for the classic Ferris Wheel but it had some good coasters and a whole lot of fair type flats. There was one ride called Extacy and it scared the heck out of me! When I saw it I only saw the begginning of the cycle in which it looks like a normal scrambler with shoulder restraints. When I got on and was strapped in I realized that the restraints were a bit loose due the fact that I am tiny. It started spinning and going up so that eventually it was exactly like a scramler but only... upsidedown! I thought I was going to fall out or something!!

probably the slingshot ride at old town in orlando

Millennium Force has to be the ride that I was the most scared on. I didn't back down from it and it went on to be my favorite coaster but I was extremely nervous just waiting in line and looking at that monstrosity. I would also have to say Xcelerator, mainly the insane launch is what got to me but also the unsupported top hat and the way it swayed. I knew it was perfectly safe, but it was still unnerving.

What would we all do if roller coasters became non-existent???

No doubt: The Fly at PCW. No, it's not a big scary ride. I guess that's why they put it in the kid's area. But having sharp turns that high up made me scream like I was going to die. Don't know why I went on it four times...

Also, Junior Gemini scared me when I was 8. And the first time I went on Magnum was when I was twelve, and the lift hill is definately the scariest part (you just keep going up and up and up and up). Also, I was screaming for the first 22 seconds of Millenium Force, but then the laughing began...then the ripping of my face...and then the ride was over...(best ride ever!)

-----------------
Magnum is red,
Millenium Force is blue,
I love Wicked Twister,
and Raptor too.

King Cobra, NOTHING I repeate NOTHING could be the airtime that sucker had. What made it even better was you were standing up so you felt like you were free floating! Something no sitdown or other stand up has.

yeah, too bad it's gone.

You want to know what Millenium Force is on a scale from 1-10? Oh, that's easy. A bajillion out of ten.

I'll chime in with a Deja Vu.

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

xxxpbbunii....you nailed it....far and away.....until/unless I decide at some point to bungee, do the Old Town Skycoaster or toss myself out of a perfectly good airplance, that will remain far scarier than anything....no coaster can compare...

I went on one of those at House of Terror Carnival in Downtown Miami, and I had the same problem with the restraint. What made it worse, was that none of m friends would go on it, so I got stuck sitting next to this guy that looked like he was about 300 pounds, and me probably being less than 100 at the time. Anyway, I didn't follow the instructions that tell you to put the heavier person in the right spot, and basically I was being spun upside down, with a loose lab bar, and a guy three times my weight being contsantly smashed against me. With all, I still had fun, and have been on much scarier rides, as my first post says, on page 2.

I'm sitting shiva for CCI.

T-2 at KK....I thought I was gonna fall out of that piece of junk....

MF, My uncle and I were flying to CP in his private plane and ten miles from sandusky airport we saw a little flash, which turned out to be the aircraft warning beacon on top of MF. At that time I then realized how big MF was!!!!!!
Deja Vu.

SFGAm: 1)DV 2)V2 3)AE Blue 4)Viper 5)Bull

Front row, first time on Screechin Eagle without knowing it's layout at all!! I think I've explained it enough....

Raging Bull= 107

Vertigo. That was the best $10 you could ever spend. It was the only ride that made me shake with adrenaline and fear. I really really miss the late great Vertigo at Cedar Point.

-----------------

To date only one type of ride intimidates me and scares me. Any drop tower intimidates me to this day. I still remember riding Drop Zone at PGA when it opened in 1996 and the first thing that came to my mind on the way up was "we are so high up". I screamed the whole way down. I'll still ride it, but you'll have to keep pushing me to move ahead in line.

Total number of V2 laps (SFMW-post mods) = 27
Total number of V2 laps (SFMW pre-mod) = 12
- no current trips are planned -

So true is your statement. :)

For me, I have a fear of heights so anything over 230 feet starts giving me the chills. I was surprised just how creepy Acrophobia at SFOG is. The whole tilting forward deal is tons of fun.

Coasterman Mike

I was shaking in my shoes during the 2 and a half hour wait of Hypersonic. That launch is so fast and speedy. That can take anyone down. Now after 17 rides, I can easily wait in line and laugh at everyone stare at the launch and talk about how scary it is. Ahh...^.^

I don't know if X would either scare me, or shake in anticipation.

Drop Oup at PKD in 2003!
OoOoOo...Rolley Coaster!

My scariest wooden coaster is the Coney Island Cyclone in the back car. The drops on that thing were insane. The first time I rode it I closed my eyes and held on for dear life. However, when it was over, I did a reride:). Followed closely by the Beast at night. Man, that thing is INSANE.

With steel, it has to be Millie, with its speed and great view (not that you get it for very long). I was limp before I got on it, but I had a blast. Superman Ride of Steel in SFNE is intimidating too, with its tunnels, mist, and whatnot.

However, the most intimidating rides, the only one's I can't do 'hands up' are Freefall Towers, both the 'up' and 'down' kinds.

-----------------
105 coasters, and the Cyclone still tops 'em all.
