Your First Roller Coaster

Mine was either Montezooma's or Soapbox Racers. I don't remember. I was 5 or 6. A lot has happenend since then (coaster wise).
My first coaster was the Big Dipper at Geauga Lake with my grandpa when I was about 8 or 9. I was so scared. LOL. I didnt even try another coaster til i was about 12 when  I rode the Corkscrew at GL. After that I was still a lil scared but I just eased myself in. I remember going to CP and being scared to death of the Magnum. I made myself ride and have been a coaster freak ever since.
Here's a few funny stories to share about my families firsts. My sister is kind of a whimp. She'll ride but only after you talk her into it for about 3 hours. We went to CP and I was 19 and she was 15. I dragged her onto the Magnum. While going up the lift hill....ALL she did was scratch the hell outta my arms. She was SO scared. Her face was white as a ghost. She never let go of me til the ride stopped. My arms were all red. LOL. She loved it tho. It was even WORSE when I took her on MF. She was 17 . She and my brother (20) were scared. They almost didnt ride. Know how we got them on??? We told them it felt like an orgasm and was better than sex. Sure enough....they jumped in line. If all else fails......USE MY TRICK!! =) lol
Mine is Dragon Mountain at Marineland.
My first roller coaster was either Thunder Mountain Railroad or Space Mountain at Disneyland. My family goes there every year so I was like 5 or something. My first wooden was Grizzly at Paramounts Great America. That thing beat the crap out of me. I started crying about half way through the ride after a I banged my head on something. I was traumatized. I haven't ridden it to this day.
My first rollercoaster was High Roller at Valleyfair its still is one of my favorites.

Hmmm...not sure how I missed this thread the first time.

1st wood - Belmont Park Earthquake [aka Dipper], 1971, original P&C trains.

1st steel - Disney's Matterhorn, 1968, age three.

Why did you bring back such an old thread? Also, anyone notice the dates, I'm wondering why everyone was so cheery... Anyway, mine was the Phoenix at Knoebels...

Yes I'm 15, no I'm not childish, I'm not being sarcastic, well maybe I do have somewhat of an ego...

Have to pay me more than that....j/k, cheap shot at 2hostyl....too easy......

My very first coaster was Jr.
Gemini at CP. But unfortunately I never got around to riding a bigger coaster until the end of the 2000 season, which was Villain at SFWoA.
My first was the Villian when i was 12 years old. Scared to death

*Top 5 coasters* 1.Millennium Force 2.Steel Dragon 2000 3.X 4.X-flight 5. Batman KF

First coaster was Little Dipper at Kennywood. What a great beginning ! Next was the Comet at Waldameer. We used to ride it a dozen laps a day for two weeks while vacationing every summer at Lake Erie. Then this adorable girl we'd known since kindergarten informed us we had to ride the Jackrabbit at the annual Kennywood school picnic with her because they wouldn't let her on without a partner. Starting out like this, who wouldn't become a coaster enthusiast ?

I would have to guess it was Cedar Creek Mine Ride back in 1969 or 70. The drive from Detroit seemed to take an eternity when I was five and then the day would be gone in an instant and time for the ride home. Time flys when you're having fun or getting old.
My first ever was Space Mountain at Disney World, when I was barely tall enough to ride (I don't think I had even started school yet). Scared me so badly it's still one of my most vivid memories of my very early years. I never rode another coaster until BGT's Python (and I actually thought it was intense at the time). But I didn't become an enthusiast until I lived near SFGAm a couple summers back.
