X Gone at SF Magic Mountain

Wow people here are smart. At first I thought "X is just broken" now this, ha ha ha.

First Sir Willow, I believe X has a 70 degree drop. It looks vertical but it's not. (correct me if i'm off by 1.99861 degrees)
Second, I need some clarification on this. Which is separating the Trains or the Track. My first impression of X was the train will never last but the supports will live forever.

Ha! I'm the 100th post! In your face! :) JK

I don't what you been smokin, 'cus SFMM is way better than Cedar Point. SFMM really has more coasters than CP, because CP counts all those little baby coasters. Plus SFMM's coasters are way more extreme than CP's.

Just so you know, Six Flags also includes "little baby coasters" in their coaster count. Both Cedar Point and SFMM have 15 coasters. Everyone has their opinion on which park is better and which has better rides. There's no ponit in being a fan boy.

In everybody's eyes it wasnt. So, actually, CP does have more coasters, so get over it. O yea, it doesnt matter how many u have, it's what you have. Looks like CP beat SFMM again. Sorry!
As soon as someone hears the court news, please submit it. I'm too far away to catch it immediately! This is a stressful day indeed....*fingers crossed*....

Model coasters and rides
First of all I say "bravo" to those who put Arrow at fault for X's problems. Arrow should not have shown Six Flags the ride not knowing if it was truly workable or not. You also have to agree that Six Flags is also into building cutting edge rides. They had to drool when they saw the concept that would become X. I don't think there was any pressure at all.

As for Vekoma, Stealth proved itself a success (at least in the eyes of the company and not Paramount, due to the breach of contract). Vekoma showed it did work and Six Flags jumped in to get two of these. X Flight is not a bad coaster even though it does suffer from some down time once in a while. At least it is still operational.

As for the super inverts Deja Vu, Vekoma was only taking their biggest seller, which has been proven successful, and making it more thrilling. Of course they did not test it first so it is Vekoma's fault for offering these to Six Flags before they proved it was workable.

Listen newbie, please read the TOS before posting garbage like that. If your looking for a fight, go somewhere else. We act more maturely than that here. :)

Actually, the two Six Flags Vekoma flyer were originally going to be heading to two different parks that were not Six Flags parks. The company that was originally going to add the two new flyers passed up on installing them for a few reasons so Six Flags ended up purchasing them instead either from the original park chain, or from Vekoma.

As for X being closed, there are some very reliable rumors regarding the ride. Are the true? Who knows? All we know for now is X is closed for the time being with no annnouncement when it will open. It is a bummer that those at the ACE Coaster Con won't be able to ride this amazing ride (IMO) but they have to realize that safety comes first.

I just hope that they have all of the problems worked out before I go, in July. I think that it might be a few weeks but it'll be up and running soon.

First, I'm glad to hear the SFMM has shown the class to remove "X" from all of their advertising while it is down. This is unlike another park that has continued to feature a coaster in its advertising even thought the coaster has not opeated all year.

I guess you're referring to Texas Tornado? This is a valid point, though truly the park expects to open it sometime this year. Who knows?

I think you meant to say 88.5°. That's the second steepest rollercoaster drop slope in the world.

Oh, boy. I can't wait.

Just to let you know, so is Wicked Twister. That ride's vertical spires are developing cracks due to the poor design in the the specific places the supports are joined to the track spine. The ride has been closed for almost a whole week from what most constant CP park goers tell me.

brother, out comes the CP fanboys with no life to hijack the thread into another CP vs. SFMM one. And along comes their SFMM mates to join them. Please, all of you, grow up and knock it off.

X's drop is 89.5 degrees. Not 70. Not 88.5. It's 89.5 only 1/2 degree short of perfectly vertical.

Both CP and SFMM count their kiddie coasters in their count, so don't bad on one for doing it. Yours is guilty to.

And please don't get started on the S:TE issue again. The majority (including ACE, Inside Park magazine, and many many others) hold that it is a coaster. A very large percentage of those that don't tend to be big CP fans. So what???? This isn't about who's got the most, and many of us don't care. It's about whether or not X is going to reopen or not.

If you can't hack that, then please, don't post. go over to thrillnetwork/ coasterforum or some other kiddie coaster site and argue there. ok? Thanks.

I was at CP for Coastermania recently, and a ride op on another ride told me that the computers in Wicked Twister's control room had "blown up" (his words) but that he had participated in the original safety systems testing for the ride, and they are flawless.

As for cracks in the main structure, I don't have any info on that.... However this same ride-op pointed out that WT is a prototype, and he said it could be that CP will make this season WT's first AND last... hmmmmm... time will tell, I guess.
