Worst Rides Ever!!!

^It's not unusual to see the back half of a train roped off, especially at a Cedar Fair park. Hercules had lots of modifications to the original design including the addition of a trim brake on the first drop. I could easily see how they would need to keep the weight in the front of the train.

Thank you sir. I know I'm right. Im not giving no "press release answer." You CLEARLY don't know who your getting into an arguement with over Hercules do ya? I can just hear the rest of the old buzzers who know me sighing and saying "o don't get him started on hercules." haha ill save you all the rants about the ridiculous amounts of facts i know about the ride. yes, Jeffrey is right. I neglected to mention the fact that after all the numerous modifications to the original design, the ride suffered due to the lack of speed. Desperate attempts to keep the weight of the train in the front, warranted them roping off the back rows. And that my friend is fact not fiction. ;)

P.S. No one is saying Hercules wasn't rough. I'm defending the ridiculous point you made about roping off the back seats due to its roughness. *** Edited 4/19/2006 6:16:03 PM UTC by DorneyDante*** *** Edited 4/19/2006 6:17:09 PM UTC by DorneyDante***

Dexter, SOB will not be open next saturday. If by chance it is. Ride in 1-2 or 6-2 and never sit in the front seat of a car.

From eyewitness reports, They have done major major restructure work, Banking differences and even modifications to the the trains.

IMHO it will either work or the coaster will be short lived.

Chuck, who isn't sure about his last statement due to the fact that just as many who ride Papa, Ride SOB.

6-2 is no longer an option. The 6th cars have been removed.

Decent amounts of structure have been rebuilt, and the lower parts after the loop are currently being worked on. It might suck a little less, but I wouldn't bet on it.

There are not enough letters in "SUCK" to properly describe SOB.

Well, okay... I may be incorrect in my assumption that it was roped off because it was so ridiculously painful in the back of Hercules. Yet, I doubt when they designed the ride they planned to close half the coach all along. So you are saying the decision to rope off the back of the coach had nothing to do with how rough Hercules was running? I'm not asking for Dorney's official press release answer.

Haha, now your changing what you said. ooook first you said it was roped off for the sole sake of it being so rough in the back. now ur changing it and saying ok it was being roped off in the back partly due to its roughness. pick a side will ya? the back of a ride is always rougher yes. it wasn't roped off for that reason. it was roped off to keep the weight in the front of the train. your telling me that if herc had 2 full trains of riders going all day long they woulda roped it off in the back because "its too rough back there, you cant sit back there" gimme a break will ya? your killin me guy.

I've never seen a coaster rope off the back of a train before, so I had an opinion on it. You say it has nothing to do with the roughness of the ride, that's fine. I believe ya and I will pass on the info. I had no intention of misleading anyone or in killing you with bad intel.
No harm. But you stated it as a fact so it was only proper I clued ya in. :)
Pkidelirium do you know the logic behind removing the sixth car?

Millennium Force Laps-169 **Vertigo Launches-21** Dragster Launches-53
PKIDelirium, Wanna make a bet?

The removal of the sixth car was a option they were looking into but it's not going to happen.

Well, my source is a supervisor from the SOB/Gun crew, so...
Predator at SFDL; what made it even worse was knowing that if it had been properly maintained it could be really awesome ride.
Hercules a.k.a. "Hurt-me-please"!!!

I Don't use arrows, arrows are for Indians.
Worst rides:

Viper at SFGAdv

SOB

I seem to remember not enjoying Hurricane at Rye Playland.

Manhattan Express, which some people have trashed, didn't seem to be that bad to me; however it is not worth the ticket price. If I could ride it for free, I probably would; but I would not pay to ride it again.

Rolling Thunder at 6FGadv. (Especially on a cold day). You could spit out fillings on that thing.

Anyone know how it's been running this year. When it first went up, it was a nice ride.

Also - High Speed Thirll Coaster. This ride is a chiroprator's dream. PURE AGONY!

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

Williams Grove Cyclone wasn't rough...... it would crumble if it was rough..... it as just different, like a peaceful encounter with the grim reaper. As for Hercules... bah. It is missed, but I still can't get my friends nose blood stains off my shirt after all these years. It did however make a nice focal point out my window.

Its not running this year. LoL Well hasnt been running up until this point in the season anyways. Its closed for El Toro's construction cause their paths cross.

I just remembered two from last season. They were both at PKD, one I've mentioned before, the other I haven't.

The Hurler - It a reversed version of Thunder Run @ SFKK, with one big difference...it's absolutely kills to ride it!

Anaconda - This looper would've been more fun if the inversions didn't hurt so bad. The rest of the ride...not to shabby.

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
boy this is a tough one, as im pretty forgiving when it comes to coasters, lol:) Cyclone at SFNE wasnt as much horrible, as it was so bad it was funny...i got off laughing so hard i nearly choked to death. and im with Moosh on Viper at Gadv, that thing was horrible..too bad, because i love Togo's heartline rolls. and even though its my home park, Rebel Yell at PKD has just gotten horrible. i rode it opening weekend, i was shocked at how bad its actually gotten. even backwards is horrific now.
Sigh. I've seen a few posts here on the SFNE (Riverside) Cyclone. Back in the day it was a great coaster. Shame what it has become.
I only ride SOB in seat 6-2, which IMO,is the most tolerable seat on the whole train. I haven't had a bad ride in it.

I can't see it staying too much longer but knowing my kind of luck they'll prove me wrong.

The Beast on a wheel seat is horrible. I had my worst ride ever in seat 1-3 on opening day last week. Never do that again.

Psyclone and PGA Grizzly quickly come to mind for being worst rides.

I actually liked Shock Wave at SFGAm (back seat was awesome) but it's larger twin at SFGAdv was a bit painful in the same seat.

I would say the worst so far for the two serious years of riding i have done would have to be Son of Beast, i have never experienced such shaking not even in the weak earthquake i have experienced here in Ohio.

A close second would be a tie between Wildcat at Hershey where i was gasping for air when i was winded by the seat belt on a few occasions within the ride. and thunderhawk at dorney it was wild and quite painful for me.

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

Rides I haven't cared for include Iron Wolf, Son of Beast, The Boss, Wild One, and (the beloved) Conneaut Blue Streak. Ouch to all five of those, and I mean in a painful way. I've given each one of them a fair chance, too.

The worst and scariest ride I ever took was the Coney Island Thunderbolt in it's last days. There were broken pieces of track repaired, it seemed, with flattened coffee cans. or something, nailed to the wood. There were violent jolts of airtime, and not the good kind, and at the top of each hill our seat cushion would leave it's place and drop behind our knees. We had from the time we were thrown out to the time we were slammed back down to retrieve it and try to hold it in place till the next one. We could literally see the track below our asses! I thought we were goners, for sure, and didn't have time to say our prayers.

This was in the late 70's or early 80's. I'm sure this ride was primo in it's day, and I'm glad for the credit, but if I'd known what we were in for I would have passed.
