Steel Phantom: First and second drops were fun, but after that it was pure hell. Those loops and inversions were murder. I never was so battered by a coaster in my life, nor have I ever prayed so much that the ride would soon end in my life. I think I passed out twice. I can't express my relief when I opened my eyes and saw that we were quickly approaching the station.
Phantom's Revenge is an improvement over the original, but that "bunny hop" near the end isn't one of my favorites. At that speed it needs to be a big hill. Anything small is more of a speed bump than a bunny hop. Air time is great... but ejector air that first snaps your femur when it throws you up against the lap bar and then crushes your spine when you slam back into your seat is not fun.
(dis)Honorable mention:
any Chance Toboggan: Roller Coaster or medieval torture device? You decide.
Worst wood: Psyclone at SFMM, maybe it was just a bad run but I was not a fan
I did forget about another Arrow Looper. Anyone remember Drachen Fire? I rode that one a few times and the words smooth, fun, exciting really weren't used after exiting...and this was both before and after the one corkscrew element was removed.

Um, like I have corrected you before my name is Dustijn.
Otherwise, it has to be S.O.B. at PKI.
Everyone's worst coaster is just as different as everyone's favorite coaster, and people will be just as defiant, and defensive of a coaster that someone has just blasted.
When they continue to allow ride like the Grizzly at PGA to beat the crap out of guests, it sends the opposite message. Chiropractors should be on duty for that coaster.
Last summer Timber Wolf was really painful, a different experience then in previous years.
I'm not a fan of demolition, but some coasters shouldn't be taking on passengers, or if they do, they should rope off the most painful sections of the coach.

Hercules at Dorney was the first coast I've seen where half the coach was closed due to roughness in the back. I like to see parks being conscious of the roughness of their coasters.
*coughbullcrapcough*
excuse my cough. I hate when people state things that aren't true. They coached off the back seats of Hercules because a full train of riders (especially on weekdays) was hard to come by. In order to keep the weight in the front of the train, they roped off the back seats. And that my friend is a fact ;) see sig

Most painful ride: Goudurix (Vekoma multi-looper)
I'll second that. Goudurix was without a doubt the worst steel coaster I have ever been on. The opening sequence was a non stop barrage of the most severe headbanging I had ever encountered. It is hard to describe the ride experience but even at the bottom of the elements where there were no directional changes, the car rocked side to side like the track was warped or something. Riders were tossed left and right in rapid succession like rag dolls.
The single worst wooden ride I've experienced was Mean Streak in 1998. Had a horrible first ride, but still went back to give it a second chance. Pretty sure I got a mild concussion from the second ride... snot was ejected from my nose, I had a headache for four days afterward, and I had multiple bruises on my back. For the only time in my riding history, I felt compelled to exit the train while it was moving. It was that bad. The Rattler is a very close second, followed by Son of Beast. *** Edited 4/19/2006 5:44:42 PM UTC by Olsor***
Yes, Cedar Fair is known for roping off back sections. I have seen it on Cedar Creek Mine Ride and on the Corkscrew at CP.
Then there is the Gemini. They don't rope it off, they just stop running one side!

Hmmm, no votes for the Williams Grove Cyclone? I'm kinda surprised. Are we speaking kindly of the SBNO? Or are there people other than me who actually sort of kind of like the contraption?
I put the WG Cyclone at number 24 (of 59) in Mitch's woodie poll. :)
Not even close to the worst wood I've experienced.
