I'm with ya on that one. I think you and me are the only ones who aren't ridiculous raging fans of Nitro.

LoCoSuMo rocks. It really seems to be a "love it" or "hate it" ride. Some people consider it rough. I don't think it's rough at all; it just tosses you around like a ragdoll, but all that thick padding makes for a very enjoyable ride experience IMO.

I'm a Big Dipper fan myself and often call it the best coaster in the state...wood or steel, but thats just me. And yes, people just shake there heads when I tell them I'll go to Geauga Lake over the other Ohio parks because the Dipper's so great.

Mean Streak, Sonny, Hercules, Viper (SF GADv), Manhattan Express, X-Flight, are all coasters I disliked for different reasons. Haven't ridden Fizzly or Flashback yet, so I can't officially comment on those two rides until I do.

Tough call. Either Ninja @ SFoG or Corkscrew @ CP.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

I actually had a really bad ride on KK last year. The first time I rode it, it was smooth and good, but the second time at the top of the hill it started getting really, really rough and was bumpy all the way down. It gave a really, really bad headache going at 128 mph. It was unfortunate too since the first ride was so smooth. :(

And yes, SOB needs to go away.

Worst coaster ride ever for me has to be Hercules (2000). But only because I remember riding it when it was actually a decent coaster (1990's).

Nitro has many, many, very vocal detractors. Obviously, the ride is still very popular in the polls and such (and I personally prefer it vastly to say, Raging Bull) but everytime Nitro is talked about the peanut gallery shows up. ;)

Not that that's a bad thing.

By far the worst ride I've ever had on a coaster was on Wolverine Wildcat the year Timbers opened. That was honestly the first time I have ever ridden a coaster that was beyond "rough" or "uncomfortable" and got into the "something isn't quite right about this" kind of area. I've never had a ride on SOB that was even close to that kind of experience. *** Edited 4/19/2006 2:38:32 AM UTC by matt.***

Viper always struck me as 'powerful' rather than rough. The ride did indeed kick your ass, but in a good way. If I wanted the "push me around in a La-Z-Boy" ride, I'd hit Nitro.

Thats on my list of Quote of the year.

Chuck, who also considered Nitro to be a La-z-boy coaster, but is unsure if his previous days S:ROS rides ruined his views of it. It was quite scenic for being so lame.

The big Dipper is a great coaster.

Worst Coaster List:
1. SOB
2. T2 @ SFKK
3. Cyclone @ WG (When it was open)
4. Rebel Yell @ PKD I have only been on this one a few times, however the ride just grindes during the entire ride. It could have been the weekend I was there (Opening weekend 04) but the ride ran terrible.

There is no such thing as a terrible Coaster just ones that haven't been taken care of

Dexter, SOB will not be open next saturday. If by chance it is. Ride in 1-2 or 6-2 and never sit in the front seat of a car.

From eyewitness reports, They have done major major restructure work, Banking differences and even modifications to the the trains.

IMHO it will either work or the coaster will be short lived.

Chuck, who isn't sure about his last statement due to the fact that just as many who ride Papa, Ride SOB.

I have been on a bunch of coaster and by far the worst ride i have ever experienced was the Hurler at PKD. SOB, Mind Eraser (SFNE), and Python (BGA) all rank up there on worst rides ever, but Hurler takes the cake. It was worse than all 10 or so of the SLC's i have been on combined.

It ain't just you and Gonch. I'm not a fan of Nyquil The Ride either.

SOB, Fizzly, Hurler, Psuckclone, Wind(Back)Jammer, SLCs, The Flying Coaster, Boomerangs, inVerters, Mean Streak, Ninja(s), Boss, Twisted Twins, etc.

I had my worst rides on Twisted Twins SFKK and Advernture Express at PKI. Both rides beat me up real bad.

Chris Knight

My worst ride was on Flashback at SFOT, during the very fist inversion my legs flew forward for one second, the horse collar went down another notch, and then I was flung back to my intial position. For the rest of the ride I was in excruciating pain (must have been a pinched nerve) and scared to death that one bad bump would break my back (litterally.)

That was the only time I feared for my safety on a coaster (and Ive had a PTC lap bar fly up on me mid ride.)

In Steel, It's a toss up between Vortex at PKI or Iron Wolf at SFGAm.

Gonch, I think I also have the Togo Tolerence Geneā„¢. ME was a fairly decent ride in my opinion. Not the best ever, but I've been on plenty that were MUCH worse.

...Mean Streak...

That hurts Tyler when you say that. Honestly.

I agree with SOB being the worst, especially at my height. But what is wrong with Magnum? It contains a great view and some good airtime.
Most painful ride: Goudurix (Vekoma multi-looper)

Worst ride (bad layout, pacing, etc.): Diablo (Arrow Mineride at Port Aventura) Its sooo stupid!

There are quite a few people who don't like the way it tracks, and don't like the shape of the hills on the return run, resulting in the kind of jarring magnum airtime you get. Its certainly not the most comfortable ride in the world. Just that Magnum feel in general a lot of people don't like.

Personally, Magnum is still my #1 steel coaster, but in the past I've had the experience of certain lame-oids claim that anyone who would put Magnum as their #1 either needs to get out and ride some more coasters or needs to get out of their nostalgia trip and get their head out of the '80s.

But whateva. *** Edited 4/19/2006 11:25:28 AM UTC by matt.***
