I'm with ya on that one. I think you and me are the only ones who aren't ridiculous raging fans of Nitro.
Call us special.

Long live the Big Bad Wolf
Mean Streak, Sonny, Hercules, Viper (SF GADv), Manhattan Express, X-Flight, are all coasters I disliked for different reasons. Haven't ridden Fizzly or Flashback yet, so I can't officially comment on those two rides until I do.
And yes, SOB needs to go away.

Nitro has many, many, very vocal detractors. Obviously, the ride is still very popular in the polls and such (and I personally prefer it vastly to say, Raging Bull) but everytime Nitro is talked about the peanut gallery shows up. ;)
Not that that's a bad thing.
By far the worst ride I've ever had on a coaster was on Wolverine Wildcat the year Timbers opened. That was honestly the first time I have ever ridden a coaster that was beyond "rough" or "uncomfortable" and got into the "something isn't quite right about this" kind of area. I've never had a ride on SOB that was even close to that kind of experience. *** Edited 4/19/2006 2:38:32 AM UTC by matt.***

Viper always struck me as 'powerful' rather than rough. The ride did indeed kick your ass, but in a good way. If I wanted the "push me around in a La-Z-Boy" ride, I'd hit Nitro.
Thats on my list of Quote of the year.
Chuck, who also considered Nitro to be a La-z-boy coaster, but is unsure if his previous days S:ROS rides ruined his views of it. It was quite scenic for being so lame.
Worst Coaster List:
1. SOB
2. T2 @ SFKK
3. Cyclone @ WG (When it was open)
4. Rebel Yell @ PKD I have only been on this one a few times, however the ride just grindes during the entire ride. It could have been the weekend I was there (Opening weekend 04) but the ride ran terrible.
There is no such thing as a terrible Coaster just ones that haven't been taken care of
From eyewitness reports, They have done major major restructure work, Banking differences and even modifications to the the trains.
IMHO it will either work or the coaster will be short lived.
Chuck, who isn't sure about his last statement due to the fact that just as many who ride Papa, Ride SOB.
It ain't just you and Gonch. I'm not a fan of Nyquil The Ride either.
Chris Knight
That was the only time I feared for my safety on a coaster (and Ive had a PTC lap bar fly up on me mid ride.)
2022 Trips: WDW, Sea World San Diego & Orlando, CP, KI, BGW, Bay Beach, Canobie Lake, Universal Orlando
In Steel, It's a toss up between Vortex at PKI or Iron Wolf at SFGAm.
Gonch, I think I also have the Togo Tolerence Geneā¢. ME was a fairly decent ride in my opinion. Not the best ever, but I've been on plenty that were MUCH worse.
Worst ride (bad layout, pacing, etc.): Diablo (Arrow Mineride at Port Aventura) Its sooo stupid!

But what is wrong with Magnum?
There are quite a few people who don't like the way it tracks, and don't like the shape of the hills on the return run, resulting in the kind of jarring magnum airtime you get. Its certainly not the most comfortable ride in the world. Just that Magnum feel in general a lot of people don't like.
Personally, Magnum is still my #1 steel coaster, but in the past I've had the experience of certain lame-oids claim that anyone who would put Magnum as their #1 either needs to get out and ride some more coasters or needs to get out of their nostalgia trip and get their head out of the '80s.
But whateva. *** Edited 4/19/2006 11:25:28 AM UTC by matt.***
