WOF - Lots of room for a new coaster

Chris,

the status of the KMG Afterburner (named Fireball by Branson USA) is unclear. The ride may show back up when Celebration City opens or it may have been sold. SDC Inc has not released anything which mentions the ride.

Not sure what your belly aching lately about TPO/UnWOF/MAAPA/certain-people is all about but it is getting old and tiresome. WOF needs to run the park the best way they see fit. Sorry if they do not run WOF in a manner that pleases Chris Knight.

The problem is removal of Whizzer at the park. I was lil upset about missing the event becasue of that reason. I don't know who Swoosh's or Jeff's contacts are. I find it fair how WOF runs the park. I don't know what WOF doing about the new parks being built in the area because I don't have the contacts like Jeff or Swoosh has (heck the people I talked too still say were geting an inverted still not a very reliable source LMAO). I'm sorry for the problems I am still very upset about Whizzer.

Whoa I'm the 88984594th Vistor to Coasterbuzz. I wonder what I have won.

Chris,

you just have seemed very agitated lately, even before the SFGAm event. I am sorry you got the flyer late. The online registration was up so maybe in the future you can register online at www.maapa.org. Send me your email address and I will send you updates for the next two events and keep you up to date. I just think we should move that part of the discussion off line. Sorry if I lumped you in with all the people on the various forums who only complain about CF's running of WOF because I know you do give them credit where it is due and you offer constructive critisim.

I still think WOF could benefit, coaster wise, from a mine train, mouse which would fill the gap between the Wacky Worm and all the other coasters. OE, TW, Boom, and Mamba all are higher on the intensity meter and Wacky Worm is not so there is no middle choice.

Chris,

I will confess that as of right now there is no hard evidence that WOF will add a frisbee. I will tell you this though, and I think Jeff will too, there will be a new attraction where the aquatic arena was for next season. As for what was said in earlier posts, let bygones be bygones. I'm sorry you did not get the flyer for the SFGAm event, I was unable to attend as well, because I was out in Ohio at the time (much better place in my opinion.) Oh and one last thing, the event that I was talking about was not this last season's, I think it was either 2001 or 2000, it must have been 2000, because it was Y2Kickoff, if that helps any. :) Chris, if I hear any new developments, I'll let you know. I'm usually at the park at least once or twice a month, if only to ride Mamba a couple of times.

so what ride could they put in the Aquatic Arena, if a Frisbee won't go there.

Let me do some diggin' over the weekend and I'll give you an update on Monday if I find anything out. Like I said though, there are several options that they are looking at.

Please don't "bump" an article w/o adding anything.

I must apologize that me adding this remark will bump it again.

I understand you want your question answered, but Swoosh can find it just as easily on the second or third page.

Ok, I did some diggin' from my friends at the park this weekend and I did find out that they are still planning on adding an attraction to the Aquatic Arena. The thing is, the park is being wishy washy as to what they want to add. The two definites that we have are, it won't be a roller coaster and that it will go in the arena area. Sorry that is as much as I can get for you at this time.

However in happier news, they have started building the woodie at Celebration City in Branson. Footers are being poured as we speak. Also SFStL is getting a ride for next year. Doesn't sound like a coasters, but more than likely it will be a tower ride.

Also like Matt said, don't bump this thread up to the front without adding anything to it. Jeff will close it if you do it too often.

I still think a roto drop would be a perfect fit for the arena area.

I know everyone will point to the Detonator and say "we already have a tower ride" and then I will have to point to the fact that we don't have a drop ride and then they will point at the sky and say "look it's 700' coaster" and when I turn around they'll run away.

I think if you want a gyro drop, you'll have to look across the state next year (hint, hint)

I have one question Swoosh. I was at WOF on Sat and I didn't see any markers or anything suguesting that the spot. The spot still looks the same as it did on opening day. How do you know that they're looking at building in that spot?

-----------------

Ok, sorry Swoosh, but it honestly sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about.

Chris,

Yes you are correct in your statement, but also remember that there were no visible markers on or around Omegatron until it was gone. You had no idea that Thunderhawk was going there until we told you. RCThemepark, sorry you feel that way.

Swoosh,

I think you know what you're talking about and it you've even been forth coming with the fact that nothing is set in stone and I won't hold any of your info over your head when the anouncement finally does comes out.

I am curious as to what your educated guess is? I know you've mentioned the Frisbee but is that what you think the final selection will be?

And being that you have close ties to WOF I am also curious as to what you are hoping for (other than a RC of course)?

I think I've made it clear that a Rotodrop is my top choice and if I have to I'll drive back to St. Louis (even if the park does smell like hot garbage).

I wonder if there will be a sign outside the entrance like they had last year for Thunderhawk.

what does IMO mean i still can't figure it out

Burn in Hell
Shockwave you Nazi
(the first drop was awesome) other than that uhhhhh good riddance

In my opinion

And I think that WoF will get a flat ride, and IMO, that is probably for the best. It will increase attendance, and will increase revenue for a new coaster. I think any new flat will be a great choice. My first choice would be a frisbee, but I would go with others. Another idea may be that they bring the Omegatron back and retheme it to the Orient and put it near the aquatic arena. I would definitely be happy if that happened.

-----------------
Sit back, hold on tight, because Mamba is about to strike! Enjoy Your Ride!

Well OK, to touch base on everyone's comments.

Jive, I have heard things from a Power Surge to a Frisbee. If I were to guess I would say something like the Power Surge would fit there, but then again....I personally would like one :) I need to talk to my friend again before I make my final answer. I'll get back to your second part.

rcthemepark, we won't know until they do it. The only other time the park has done this recently is when they put a sign up on the construction fence where Mamba was being built.

coastercory, there is still a strong possibility that Omegatron could make a return, rethemed. It is still sitting back behind the wave pool building. Side note: Octopus sat there for two years and then returned.

Later Days -
