Will Hercules not being there still bring you back to Dorney?

I was wondering, if there are any Hercules lovers out there, i would like to hear what you have to say about Hercules' destruction. I realize that many of you hated the ride, but I loved it, and it probrably will not bring me back to Dorney for the 04 season. I realize this is kind of weird, but I appreciated the ride, and I wonder who else is not going back after the unnanounced decision of Hercules being torn down. I would come back for Talon, Thawk and Dominator, but it still will not be the same without my man Hercules.
Never been there myself, but I think Dorney still has a good amount of attractiveness, if not for Talon itself. If I were within a 3 hour drive of it, I'd sure make atleast one visit Hercules or no Hercules.

Not going back since hercules is torn down? *Sigh*............

I'm not a big Dorney fan to begin with. But I will not be going for the 04 season unless I get free passes. RIP Hercules!!

Thanks,

Haha, if anything it will make me MORE likely to visit next year.

"Gee, what a pretty view of the lake now..."

F&^$in jerks, you're just sayin that cause you rode it once and hated it.
The lack of Hercules won't keep me away from the park but the addition of the B&M won't bring me there either.

Wouldn't change my perception either way. If I were still in Allentown, I'd have season passes and I'd still hit the park 15 or 20 times.

I really think Dorney has a bad rep that it doesn't even come close to deserving.

I rode it more times than I can count. I got horrible rides, bad rides, decent rides - but never a great ride. The ugly truth is that no matter how crowded the park got, there was never more that a few cycle wait and that the park had enough with trying to keep up a ride that very few people were interested in.

My suggestion is to get over it - it's gone.

I will be visiting Dorney for the first time this year, I dont really care about Herc not being there. But I would have liked to have ridden it.

How many people are going to visit Dorney next year to intentionally support their decision to remove such a piece of junk? :)

Everyone already knows my opinion on the issue, I don't even need to go there again. Will I still go to Dorney? Of course! Will I go as much now that my fav rollercoaster there has been torn down? Probably not.
Since Hercules was never a draw for me since it was first built, I'd say that it's lack of presence would have no effect on me. I have, and always will, visit Dorney for its classic Schmeck coaster and three other good steel rides.

The new B&M in 2005 will undoubtedly be a good ride, and will only make me appreciate the park more. I can't understand the people that are so down on the new coaster before anything has been said about it. Who knows? It could be BETTER than Herc!

I will want to go more actually, I hated Hercules, overbraked, rough, and slow. As much of a wooden coaster fan that I am, I have to rank it as one of the least enjoyable rides I have been on.

Actually, Talon and Steel Force alone make me want to go back, Hercules wasn't really part of my decision...

I'm with coasterdude on this one. I would go there multiple times just to support their decision to remove it!

Actually, unless I'm goin to GAdv, I probably won't venture out that way. Dorney was good, but its more than a day trip for me, and its not good enough for the money for a hotel all by itself.

I'd like to visit Dorney this year...if only to dance on Herc's grave ;)

I don't plan on going back this year, but do plan on going back in 2005.

The removing of Hercules and the building of the new coaster has nothing to do with it though. There are a few parks (Hershey, Knoebels) that we visit every year, and two (Dorney, Kennywood) that we visit every other year. 2000 was Kennywood, 2001 was Dorney, 2002 was Kennywood, 2003 was Dorney, 2004 will be Kennywood, 2005 will be Dorney... Just worked out that way.

But seriously... the lack of Hercules would not keep me away from Dorney even if we had planned on going. My reasons for going to Dorney are Talon, Steel Force and Thunderhawk.

"Yes... well... VICTORY IS MINE!"
Well, I'd have to say no, it will discourage me from going to Dorney. Personally, I think Dorney is an absolutely middling park. Talon is great, the rapids ride was demented (in a good way), but Herc was my favorite coaster there. As it stands, I'm not excited about going back there. Money is going to be tight this year (do people *really* spend $20,000 on a one-time event?!?) so Dorney will be off the list. Even in a good year it would only get consideration *after* its two biggest competitors (Hershey, GAdv).

So, it's a no from me, but even if Herc was there it is unlikely I'd visit this year. (But Hershey is becoming an annual event!)

Is there a hint of something in that statement Jeremy?

Lori - the Uhing's are planning on a Hershey trip this year, finally.

heck ya. Herc was a crappy coaster anyway. WIth A B and M coming to town it couldnt be torn down fast enough for me!!!!!
