What's the longest anyone has waited for a coaster

An hour and 45 minutes for TTD, and just over 2 hours for MF. I know that sounds weak, but I just won't wait 3-4 hours to ride one ride, when there are usually so many other rides at a park with 15-20 minute waits. I'll wait until I see an opportunity, whether that means watching and waiting for lines to drop off, Fastpass, ERT's, going on days in the off-season or days when I know bad weather is due.

My first ride on TTD was actually after it broke down, we were heading to get lunch, so we went and got food and camped out in front of the entrance and waited. Our first SOB ride was actually a chance thing. We were at Fearfest, and lines were out the ques at every haunted attraction. So we went over to ride Face/Off, and noticed SOB was open, but also noticed no crowds of people around that whole area. We went back and the line was literally 5 minutes. We got beat up and nearly froze, but it was fun!

I think my thinking on TTD was that I wasn't going to wait 4 hours for a 17 second ride. It was fun though.

3 hours for Splash Mountain at WDW
3 hours for Indiana Jones DL

near 7 hours for Spider at Lagoon, Utah. My friends and I had nothing else to do, so we just waited for the ride to open. Even though they were having major problems on opening day. The funny thing about this was we got on the ride, pulled the safty bar down, and the operators were gasping for air. We thought something bad was going to happen to us. So, I looked to where the ride op. was looking and a car stalled between the U-Turn and brake-run three. In turn we had to leave the ride. So, I don't know if this counts (because we never got to ride), but I'm putting it down anyway, lol...

Not at all. I've never waited 2 hours for anything. That to me is stupid. Honestly, I may have come close to 1 1/2 hours once or twice. I could probably name every time I waited more than an hour:

TTD - August 2003
MF - July 2000
X - February 2003
X-Flight - June 2001
Raptor - Back in the day (1995 or maybe 1996)
Probably Mantis the year it opened (1996)

Interestingly, 4 of those waits come before my days as what I'd call myself an "enthusiast" and the other two were "must rides" for me.

Anymore, I find myself skipping 30 minute lines for most things. I'd rather be doing anything at any given park than standing in line for a ride. Thank the powers that be for Q-bot. :)

Longest wait for me 3.5 hours for Kingda Ka followed closely by 3 hours for Dragster and Millie(due to train stuck on lift hill).

Never use QBOT for Kingda Ka if you are scanning for other rides also. If Ka breaks all ride times slide back for the length of the breakdown unless you cancel the Ka reservation!

I did the tshirt thing a few weekends ago. I wore my Kingda Ka shirt to ride Dragster. Nice to see the joking of the Dragster staff :-) *** Edited 8/22/2005 4:16:18 PM UTC by dragonoffrost***

Watch the tram car please....
Oddly enough, the longest wait I've had recently that I can remember is... 2.5 hour wait for Tremors. This was shortly after it had opened - so we expected a bit of a wait but... the reason for the wait was rather intresting. Seems a local radio station was holding a "last one riding gets a pile of cash" contest. So, on a coaster that only has one train, fully half the rows - not seats mind you, but ROWS. were taken up bo folks in this contest. They wouldn't even let us ride next to them in empty seats.

It was funny to see all the sleeping bags on the station platform though...

Two of the most painfully boring waits I have are for Flight Of Fear and Runaway Reptar though.

My reasons:

FOF - The story behind the ride trailer they play repeatedly. It was cute the first season...but geez! I'll even settle for Qtv. Or here's an idea, play clips from the actual tv series "The Outer Limits". I love the ride, and by the lines I've stood in this season FOF seems to be getting more popular with age, and lines obviously are getting longer.

Reptar - Not only do I loathe the Rugrats, but a one train operation is bad too. I do realize there is really no need for a second train, and really no chance either. But never did I wish more for a second train on any coaster. Thankfully I've got one kid beyond this ride, and only one more to go.

I've actually liked in the past how CP has had the dj's, though they haven't been doing it the past couple of times I was there. It was something that did pass the time for me anyway!

These waits are also a good time to have a woman with you who likes to talk. Never am I more proud to hear my wifes voice than in a long wait for one of our favorite coasters! Just get her on a subject she likes, and the rest is history. Don't worry ladies, she'll read this, and I'll take my rightful place in the dogs bed tonight. *** Edited 8/22/2005 11:19:02 PM UTC by Floorless Fan***

A little over 6 hours during the first month of operation of the Indiana Jones ride at DLR. It seems like it was a long time ago now but I remember it being worth every single second spent in line to get the chance for that first ride.

Well I did wait 6 hours for TTD. But I can only say most of the wait was for the coaster going down, or having a roll back during its firts year. That wait seemed to be forever.
Not sure if this is true but when I worked at Uni in CA they told us that when Jurasic Park (Your Ass in Park) opened it had a 6-8 hour wait and they had to route the queue into one of the neighboring soundstages and send over entertainment personal to work the queue.

Yes I know its not a coaster- but it does have one big drop (just like TTD ;))

I could never love an Arrow!
