What's the longest anyone has waited for a coaster

5 1/2 Hours for Top Thrill Dragster. Keep raining, you know how that works.
I hope I haven't already replied at least 2 times...

Okay, I know I waited a long time for PCar's Vortex its opening year, but don't remember how long. The longest I can remember waiting in line was 2.5hrs for Millie. I got 2 rides on TTD and waited a cumulative less time than that!

I don't wait for coasters or rides much anymore. It killed me to wait 75 minutes for Collosuck, but thankfully my friend Jamaal, Tim Danner, Kyle (Recess) and his lady were there to keep me company. Just ask Kyle and Tammie about the Fastlane kids ;).

Do you mean the ones on the milk-cartons now Tek? ;)

My longest wait is just under four hours (waiting for rain to stop most of it) back in 1979 for the Beast.

longest wait was like almost 2 hours for mf, and 1 hour and a half for Raptor.

Did anyone tell you the Colossus story, mikey? It was funny, Tammy and Kyle couldn't stop laughing.

I don't think I heard that story either, Clint. The only SFMM story that I remember from that day is the one involving a dead rat. :-)

It involved one train op on one working side of a coaster that is fully capable of running 6 trains, and the one train that was running got filled up half way with Fastpass people as I was about to get on, and our group got split.

Now, I don't mind Fastpass or the like within reason, but a 75 min. wait for 1 train op on a coaster that can run 6 trains on 2 sides? Unacceptable. So I started running my mouth. Ask Kyle about the look on that kids face ;).

I can only imagine. We only rode Collosus once that day, and the wait was probably about...45 minutes. I was with Bill, Kristin, and Jeff. I will never forget Jeff "blocking" a little snotty brat from skipping line. It was priceless.

I thought they were only suppossed to allow a "few" Fastpass people on at a time? That's the way it worked at Great America and with Qbot at Great Adventure.

4 and a half hours for TTD openeing year, and 4 hours for millenium force opening year. I plan on going on kingda ka, so i'm sure that will be another 4 hour wait...if not longer.

waited 2 and half hours for raptor like 2 months ago too. *** Edited 8/21/2005 10:30:20 PM UTC by Dr. DOOM 1289***

Tina, the only thing I rode twice at SFMM was X, with very, very little wait on ERT. I'm so spoiled.
I'm going to GADV tomorrow, so i'm going to get a qbot. (ducks) Does anyone here who goes to GADV a lot think that there will be long lines for the coasters?

Yes, and a Qbot is a great idea at Great Adv. :-)

Clint, the ERT on X was just amazing. But after 4 rides I was done. I heard the line swelled to a good 4 hours after the park opened, though.

Thank you very much Tina. Everyone on this forum seems to hate qbot with a passion. I've never used one, but it seems like the smart way to go for tomorrow.

You are welcome. :-)

It's a little pricey but I think it's worth it, at least it was for me and my friend when we visited the park this past June.

You should at least give it a try. :-) The day I was there the Bots sold out very fast, so I would get one ASAP. Everytime I have been to Great Adventure it's been PACKED, even in the off-season.....so expect crowds.

Have fun! :-) Say hi to Ka for me.

Will do. :) After we get the bot, we are going right to Ka. I printed off the papers, and i'm going to fill them out now, and get there early so i can shoot right to the fastlane. Can you pay with cash? And also, do you have to be 18 to rent one? I was planning on giving them my season pass as ID. Thanks. *** Edited 8/22/2005 2:23:22 AM UTC by coasterniece***

The QBot paperwork is online? I didn't realize that. lol.

Get your Bot first thing and RUN to Ka (hopefully it will be open at opening...lol.)

Our timing with Ka was perfect. When we got to the park it wasn't open, so we went to get the Qbot (which was a 25 minute wait).

Once we got it we rushed over to the Golden Kingdom to see what was going on with Ka. For some insane reason the park doesn't operate Ka in the rain. Well, it was more of a "mist". Strange. I guess the midwest parks have different rules about riding in the rain. :-P

Anyway, we got to the ride and found out they were letting people in the queue, so we went for it. They didn't get the ride going for about another 2 hours, after that we waited about 20 minutes (we were pretty close to the front).

After we rode the line was an easy 4 hours at least, maybe more.

So if you see Ka running, GET THERE, or at least Bot it ASAP. After our first and only ride we decided to Bot it for another one, but that wasn't until 5pm. By that time it had broken down several times. The cool thing about Bots is they tell you when a ride is down (not that that's a good thing but at least you know).

Yea, we're going to get the bot, then run over and scan it.

I might just for the fun of it wear my TTD shirt. ;)

LOL! I wore my Legend shirt......not the same though. ;-)

My uncle was recently to GADV, and when waiting in line, he saw a guy flip out on another guy for wearing his TTD red polo to 'his park'. I mean he freaked out on him.

Oh geez. That's sad. VERY sad.

I have about 5 coaster/park shirts and like to "mix it up" a little but have never had anyone.........man. That's so sad it's almost funny.
