What's the longest anyone has waited for a coaster

I've been waiting months to ride Kingda Ka and I'm still waiting.
well in one sitting 5 hours for TTD, but I also waited 4 years and a total of 6 visits for Deja Vu at SFGAm, oh yea and once i finally saw it open and got in line for it it ended up breaking down twice for a total of 3 hours, but there was no way i was getting out of line when i had waited 4 years for it.

My brother (I'm not that crazy) also waited 8.5 hours for Flight of Fear at PKI on opening day. Same crazy dude has also waited 5 hours for Son of Beast.

2.5 hours for X and I was in the initial rush of people in the morning to run to the ride. The problem is that they split the line like three people behind me. Those people behind me walked right onto the ride. :( Bastards. Most of that wait was right in the station. It really takes them forever to cycle trains on that ride.

Certain victory.

Three coasters at SFGAm, at least two hours each: Two and a half each for S:UF and Deja Vu, and two for Raging Bull. In the latter's case, it started raining heavily about a half hour into my wait and they had to shut the ride down. If half the people hadn't left the line by the time the ride re-started, this wait would also have been two and a half hours, possibly even three.

I was asked to describe Deja Vu in one word. The word? AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
I waited 16 months to ride TTD. Cause it wasn't open the first summer. That is my 2 cents.

When I was young and foolish, I waited 2 hours for Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland on Christmas Eve 1991.

When I was old and foolish, I waited 2 hours for MF at Cedar Point in 2002. It was a foolish wait in the hot sun. There are a lot better things to do at CP than stand in that line.

I was at Cedar Point with my friend trevor and as you all probobly know Clint Novak. We waited 13 and a half hours to ride Top Thrill Dragster in 2003. WE played monopoly in line and sent runners for food all day. It was a blast and definately worth it. theres some pictures of us waiting in line http://www.coastercrew.com/200308_CPP.html

We all pitched in a few bucks for the monopoly game and the winner got to keep the game. Clint won. There was a person from hawaii and Sweden i think it was waiting in line with us. We were all determined to ride the biggest rollercoaster.

Looking back at the history of this thread, I can't believe I waited that long for any ride. Nowadays if I've ridden it, I'll wait no more than an 40 minutes, especially if it's at my homepark. If I haven't ridden it yet, and it isn't in my homepark, I'll wait longer, but nowhere near 5 hours, even if I can't get back to that park in the near future.

The wait times I've encountered at parks have gotten way shorter since 1999. The longest I've waited for a coaster since then was a little more than 90 minutes for Hulk at IOA, and Top Gun at Canada's Wonderland.

This will surprise some of you younger buzzers, but back in High School, I waited 3.5 hours for Six Flags Great America's "Shockwave" on opening day. It debuted as the tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the world (with the most inversions), so it was quite a big deal at the time. It was also a very smooth ride it's first few years.

Millie comes in a close 2nd (approx 3hours).

I remember the days of the Beast having 6 hour waits, although four hours was the longest I ever waited for the Beast. The Vortex used to get lines that were about that long as well.
5 hours to ride Mean Streak on opening day at Cedar Point in 1991, and 4 hours at Media Day in 2003 for Top Thrill Dragster.

Talk about resurrecting old threads (twice even!) I had to go through it to see if I actually posted, which obviously I didn't so.........

The longest I ever waited for a coaster was probably 3 hours max.....probably Dragster.

The longest I've waited was 3 hours but that was to vote, not to ride a coaster; I was still taken for ride. :)

ROFL, millrace...I waited about 1-1/2 hours to vote EARLY....then on Election Day the lines never got ovr a half-hour here. Still, I got TAKEN for the same ride you did... ;) I guess I shoudln't complain, what ELSE has a ride time of four YEARS! LOL!

Longest coaster wait, 2-1/2 hours for Face-Off at PKI. What was I thinking??!?

I waited for three hours to ride Mean Streak when it first opened. The whole queue was filled! What a waste of time.

What's really funny to me here is that Mforce Aholic started it up again as if the question had just been asked, and the answer is regarding a coaster we hadn't yet even dreamed about in July of 2001.

We, huh? What, you got a mouse in your pocket? ;)I started the thread, and I had dreamed of Milf Force long before it was built. Just always thought it'd be better. :)

I'd like to reup my original answer, btw. My longest I've waited for a coaster is 30 years, 11 months for the hyper at Six Flags over Georgia.
