What's the longest anyone has waited for a coaster

Why do people bring dead topics back?

This thread has been dead for over 3.5 YEARS...

Why do people bring dead topics back?

Because people complain if they start a new one!

8 hours is crazy. That's a banker's workday! Anyway, I waited 3 hours for Milennium Force and it was very worth it. Half way through the ride my friend's boobs flew out because we were going at such ludicrous speeds. Memories...!
3.5 hours on Top Thrill Dragster in Aug 2003, the thing broke down 2 times, testing for extra 15 minutes and I got front seat at the end of the line. I'd say it's worth the wait.
I recall waiting from 10:30am to almost 7pm for Batwing on it's scheduled opening day, we were allowed to be at the front of the line, but it kept breaking and breaking and breaking............

51/2 hours for TTD, May 2003, day after the cable broke. Thankfully, it was with Peabody. Made the time move quickly. :)

Was that the june 16th opening perhaps?IIRC the ride missed at least two other scheduled openings due to it's technical problems that year.

They've improved things quite a bit though in the past two or three seasons....remember when Batwing used to open on average around 1 or 2 pm? now they're able to get it up & running usually by park opening time.

What's really funny to me here is that Mforce Aholic started it up again as if the question had just been asked, and the answer is regarding a coaster we hadn't yet even dreamed about in July of 2001.

It's like if I suddenly said 'the square root of x times the divisor y' while sitting on the subway one day, to answer a question asked by my 10th grade algebra teacher 15 years ago....

I waited 2+ hours for The Nightmare at TGE (don't even get me started). I also waited about 1.5 hours for the Alpine Bobsled at TGE (seriously... I don't even want to talk about it). ;)

Other than my home park though, my longest waits would have to go FOF at PKI and Twister II at SFEG. FOF was about a 1.5 wait WITH lapbars (hated it) and Twister II was about a 2 hour wait with one train operation (well worth it).

I waited 4 hrs for batman at six flags great america the summer it opened. Also waited 2 1/2 hrs for millienniumforce in 2002

4 hours, Top Thrill Dragster on its first day open to the public. At least I fit in and got to ride, unlike somebody I knew who waited as long as I did, and learned the hard way!
Second longest was 3 hrs for PK's Flight of Fear in 1997 (it was down part of that time).

Dental Plan! Lisa Needs Braces.

4 hours and several roll backs on TTD the second weekend of operation. I thought that I wasn't going to ride, but it was conquered.

2 and half hours for Batman when it was just one of two BMs at Great America.

4 hours for TTD Opening day... or evening. The park was closed by the time I rode.
I was in line for Volcano at PKD, first ride on this, and I was extremely psyched. (I was 12 at the time I think). My father and I get into the line, and are told it is a 3 hour wait. So, we make our way, and about 2 1/2 hours through, I started feeling so sick, I could have died. So I leave the line, go to the bathroom, get the sick feeling out of me, and get back in line.

So, It was about 5 1/2 hours I waited. :(

7 1/2 hours for Dragster, front seat, when it broke down one time in 2003.
I have a neighbor that had a double hip replacement. He got the procedure done about a week before TTD opened. He waited over a year to ride that.
I've waited 1 hr to ride X-Flight SFWOA the first weekend it opened.
