What's Next for Valleyfair!

Since none of the coasters at WoF have "steel" in the name I'd be willing to bet one will....next year ;)

Where--at Worlds of Dorney?

Swoosh: Remember that SV was built in the parking lot--there really was no need to do extensive survey work. But since you're a big fan of repeating hearsay, what do the League of Extraordinary Midwest Coaster Consultants, DemiGods and Would-Be Legendary Industry Insiders (translation: you dorks) think it is?

Playa those dorks would be hoping for the long awaited beemer.

Yes, we, I mean, they would :)

If what Swoosh is telling us is true, I would almost guarantee an inverted coaster. Of course, I woulda done that a few years ago too :) Just my 2 cents.

As for the "Steel" thing, I can hear it now: Steel Falcon. Oh, the horror!!!

OK, that's enough, I'll let CPlaya and Swoosh get back at it now.

It will be Steel Coaster Thingie: the Ride. :)

CPlaya-
Dork? Me a dork? ;) Ok maybe just a little one. :) After scanning my crystal ball and watching the Floo Network (wonder if anyone will get that one), I have come to the conclusion that CPlaya is a poopie head. You heard it here first, press release tomorrow.

LOL!

As for what the actual ride will be -- not a clue. I just know that earlier this season when they were doing orientations, some of my friends who work at the park made comments about how in one of the orientation rooms there was a large air shot of WOF with an area circled on it. Also I have heard that flags are popping up in this area, but I haven't been to the park lately to confirm or deny it - so I am taking that with a grain of salt. Other than that.....Of course there are rumors, but I'm not playing that game this go around.

Note his use of the Told Ya So Cuz I Didn't Say Anything Wrong Before card. Perhaps he's wising up after all...

I still standby the thought that within 5 years, they demolish the waterpark and open a new, seperate admission water park on the other side of the parking lot. I'm keeping my ear to the ground on this one cause I've heard it too much to just let it go. A wave pool would be nice, but like you said, where would they put it?
In the overflow parking lot that fills up on heavy days? Doubt it.
OK, I heard through the grapevine (via Jeff Mast) that one of the CFLP properties will get an inverted coaster next year. So that leaves KBF or WOF. [I'm ruling out MiA, because there is just no way CFLP would spend that much on that park]. SO, let the wildfire roll.

Swoosh - why does that rule out KBF? That's exactly what all sources point to as being built on the Reflection Lake site.

Moosh, I didn't say that it ruled out KBF. Re-read my post, I said that I am ruling out MiA. I believe, and I will re-read all my posts this thread, that I have YET to say WOF IS getting a coaster, just that it looks like a LARGER project will occur for the 2004 season.

Well MY sources aren't saying anything--which probably proves they're smarter than all of your sources put together.

Swoosh: I see you lasted a whole day.

Moosh, That reflection lake site theory is looking pretty good. I hope to make it out to the park later this summer from Nebraska.

It's not a theory. Heck, it's not even much of a rumor.

Assuming the park can get approval from the Buena Park City Council to build the coaster that *is* where it will go. Jack Falfas himself said in a room full of enthusiasts that it's coming in 2004. Actually, his exact words were "If you think [Xcelerator] is big, wait until Jan 2004."

The only mystery is what kind of coaster it will be.

Moosh - no problem, and yes I know Jack said that -- it was posted like eveywhere, I some how have visions of hyper dancing in my heads when I think of that.

CPlaya - I was just passing along what Jeff Mast said, I know you get a long so well with him. So :p

or Giga....
There's no way they could shoehorn a giga into KBF. They would have more than enough problems getting a hyper in there.
