What's going on with Kingda Ka??

Well how many B&M's have you been on? While I'll agree that for the most part, Intamin is more intense, you can't tell me that Medusa, or Alpengeist are "sleeper" rides. And Nitro is IMO a top 10 ride, very happy to have it close to home. Intamin has more than their share of rides that I am not impressed with. Storm Runner was cool, but nothing special IMO. SFA's superman gets all sort of credit, I was not impressed at all with that ride.

Another problem, is that you see more or less clones, or similar layouts from B&M, no parks want to pay for a radically different layout when they can get a proven money maker for half the cost. I'm sure B&M could add a trick or two if asked.

Lord, we have another Beast Tamer...

I think they should of called it "the big kohuna".

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Stormrunner, more reliable than most B&M? Not from my experience! Last year, when I visited Hersheypark for the first time. It was down the only day I was there! Something to do with the launch system.

On the other hand, Vampire at my own park was never down out of all the days I worked there.

I have been on Medusa, Alpengeist, Apollo's Chariot, and Nitro and none of them come close to the feeling I get when I'm riding Millennium Force. I wouldn't wait for more than 15 minutes to ride those 4 B&M coasters. I admit that they are all good coasters and are all something to get excited about, but not if you have already ridden Millennium Force. I mean come on now think about it, who wants to go on rides like that after you have been on MF. You feel let down after riding them and just wanting to ride MF all day long. Once you have experienced the best in anything, you never want to go back to the rest. thats life!!!

Their technology isn't advanced enough to build any type of launch coaster.

So am I the only one that caught this little gem of idiocy?

Well, what launch coaster have they built - remember not to count the Hulk since B&M cannot have credit for that launching system.
Back on topic, It's a VERY strong possibility that Kingda Ka will be open to the public by next weekend :) .

Hopefully there will be some sort of announcement today or tomorrow.

Millennium Force is a good ride, but if I had to choose between it and riding Apollo in the back seat, I'm in Virginia. That's not even a contest.

Amen Jeff! Millie is hella-fun but I'd choose Apollo over it anyday too. Of course SFNE's Superman blows them both away, so....

Thanks for the lovely compliment if I am the one you are calling a troll. Let’s see, a member since February of 2002 stops by to drop stupid false hints about something…. I’m a little beyond that crap at 30 years old. I’ll be at media day and enjoying a ride on Kingda Ka so take my FYI for what its worth.

RT....just a guess, but I think he was referring to youngstud....who DOES have that Beast Tamer look about him thus far...;)
LOL - Ok, I can see how after I just re-read each of his posts. (two of which started with "I can honestly say") Thanks for cluing me in :)
Ok now I got a quick question to anyone who knows when media day is. When you return from media day if they tell you the official public open to public day and don't tell you not to announce it. Please let us know. I got a sister in law who wants a free day at GAdv for her birthday but only if KK is open. Thanks in advance.

Anyone that would choose a slower coaster over a faster coaster does not enjoy thrills. Anyone that would enjoy the coaster with a smaller drop than the larger drop doesn't enjoy excitement. I actually fell asleep on Apollo's Chariot once which is pretty sad. I haven't been on the Superman ride yet but it looks good and Im sure it is since it is an Intamin coaster. It looks like a baby Millennium Force to me and I'm sure its better than Apollo's Chariot. Am I different to like speed more than airtime? I guess so but hey, I like getting a rush that only Millennium Force can give you as well as Hypersonic XLC and other powerful launch coasters!!!

And that, my friends, is probably the most stupid, ignorant, trollish comment ever made on this site. Mark your history books.

I guess 99.99% of us don't enjoy thrills and excitement! Maybe I shouldn't prefer Raven/Legend, etc. over MF, SD2K, TTD, etc. ;) *** Edited 5/12/2005 7:54:34 PM UTC by Peabody***

I say we make his parents sign a waiver and put his butt in any of the top wooden air machines sans lapbars or seat belts and see what he says about thrills then!. Oh wait... he'd be no longer with us and his parents would sue said park even with the waiver. Nevermind let him have the restraints. But make him take a lie detector afterwards about the thrill level. Or maybe we strap him in Hades with its sick banked turn and see how many laps he can do without getting sick and then give him the lie detector about thrills there?
