Steve Perry,No Vland is not getting a new coaster and wtf, was a brand new B&M flyer NOT just added to SFOG last year?! It's about time they get another coaster? What dream world are you living in.
Man, some people can never be happy!
Well, it's going to happen believe it or not. I don't know if you recall that heated multi-million dollar (and I MEAN MULTI-million) lawsuit between Time Warner Inc. and the investors of Over Georgia back a few years ago...I'll let someone else come along and fill in the details if needed or wanted.

You seem to know a lot about what parks are going to add in 2004. Do you know anything about Dorney?

Krypton...It looks like there are a lot of rides next year because people spread rumors about all the parks getting something new. I bet half of what is listed above, none of those parks get coasters. We aren't living in 1999 or 2000 anymore, unfortunately.
Of course they're all rumors as of now. I understand that. I'm ready to admit that I don't know much more than the regular guy about what parks are putting in what next year. But that's what part of the excitement is, being surprised by some of those rumors floating around that do come true.
Am I right?
And was completely flaming Steve Perry really appropriate?

The lawsuit has nothing to do with new coasters. Period. It states that the park must invest a certain percentage of it PROFITS back into the park in one form or another. For all we know, they could spend all of next years money fixing DeJa Vu this year, or they could buy a million dollars worth of garbage cans (God knows the place needs it). This same discussion comes up every year about this time. "SFoG won a multi-million dollar settlement!!! They are getting a 300 foot giga that does 100mph and 15 loops for next year!!" Wait and see. SFoG is not getting a new coaster next year. 2005 and 2006 are the years for new coasters.

For other parks:
I am really hoping SFDL gets a major addition whether it's a coaster or not.
I'm wondering what BGW, Kennywood, and SFGAm have up their sleeves for 2004 as well.
X Factor
Two things. The way you posted your first message made it sound like you were believing all the rumors. This happened last year, too. Every park was getting a [insert flavor of the month] coaster for 2003 and this has been one of the slowest years every in regards to new coasters (SF sure did recycle a lot though!). And yes, when parks announce a new coaster, it sure is a good time to be an enthusiast. I just don't understand how believing a rumor is fun. I'd rather just wait til the park announces to avoid any disappointment (which there will be next year, oh yeah!). That's just my outlook on it, I used to be similar to the way you view things and get hyped about every rumor I read, but after getting disappointed so many times, I just decided to let the parks announce and then be "surprised." :)
And I *so* didn't flame Steve Perry! Sometimes the truth hurts, I guess. :-\
And Krax...read what Rampage wrote. They have all that money you say, tell me, what major capex did they put in the park for 2003 season? Right.
Joe, who thinks that if all these parks are getting all the super dooper mega coasters, they might need to be...oh I dunno, clearing land and surveying the area perhaps? But that's just me!

actually, I want to know bout the east coaste Paramount Parks, and a few east coast SF parks, with interest in CP too. But SFAW is something I always like to see get something new, and maybe next year they'll get a coaster since one already left this year.

Beaver, The other White meat.
But I certainly won't be disappointed with a hyper either. This also seems likely because it's been so long since a major coaster (7 years to be exact). Smurf Island could be the new "[insert hyper name] Island". Perfectly great location! :)

I never said that the park was to put in another coaster next season. I was stating that there is a good chance (90%) that guests will visit the park next season to find something new to do that wasn't there the previous season.
Do any of you remember the basis of that lawsuit? The prosecutor filed suit claiming that Time Warner Inc. intentionally did nothing to the park (literally) for a few years in an attempt to drive the value of the park down so that they would be able to claim entire ownership of the Over Georgia park rather than "share" ownership of the property with investors. There was a period of time when that park saw nothing new when it came to capital and after the suit was settled, in came the wave of long due coaster attractions headed by Batman The Ride in '97, The Georgia Scorcher in '99, Deja Vu in 01' and Superman Ultimate Flight just last season - with other park improvements and additions served alongside those. I'm pretty sure Six Flags White Water was introduced after 97'.

For that, don't we have to wait to hear what rides the other parks are removing for *their* new rides first?
