Word - It's not that I don't want SFMM to get another coaster, it's that I want them to take a year [or two] off and spend the money fixing the flats that don't work, or on a few new flats, or maybe fixing up some of the abandonned, dilapidated buildings in the park.Anyone with an ounce of common sense can understand that [which explains kRaXle's three word response].

Look Moosh, if you actually believe that will actually happen, then you might as well go try to hook up with Pamela Lee because chances are it won't. What are they going to do? Advertise "New for 2004! Fixed up buildings and a new small spin-n-puke ride!" Just think about it. After mega-budget goodies like Goliath, Scream!, X, and Deja Vu - they won't rake in any crowds with a set-aside season for in-park fixie-uppies - no matter how much we think it needs to happen. Not when Disney is ready to launch Tower of Terror; Universal Studios Hollywood with Revenge of the Mummy, SeaWorld Adventure Park and its Journey to Atlantis and who knows what Knott's has brewing in the pot. Are you sure you're the one with the common sense?

As for flat rides...what's so small about the Huss rides PKI put in? Tomb Raider and Delirium? Those are rather large and Xtreme...just what SFMM is looking for. If you didn't have your head so far up where the sun doesn't shine you might have heard of them. SFMM could promote those as easily as a new coaster.

It's coming Aug 18th, and your 2004 will never be the same!
And here is why......
Last Thursday , I went to Lake Winnie(my home park)with my friend to make up for missing my his birthday bash. When we pulled in to the parking lot , the first thing I saw was the land clearing being performed on the other side of the lot(the parking lot isn't that big). I already knew about this , because they have been clearing it since LAST YEAR. I noticed that there has been more done since my last visit , and that it now extends from front to behind back of the parking lot. I headed up to the front gate to get my admission , but then noticed that it had been blocked off , and MORE land clearing had been Done! There is now a New entrance closer to group sales , which looks really temporary.
My first thought when I compromised all of this is "New Coaster?" I don't really know what it could be , but the land area is big enough , and wouldn't that be a great spot for a nice , small woodie? A wooden coaster would fit in quite nicely in that park. I really do hope this is something though.
P.S. I asked the lady at the front gate that day about a coaster , and she said "maybe" along with a implying smile. ;)

I have heard of those Huss "Land of the Giants" flats - and frankly, what I've heard from riders on PKI's Delerium, they are not all worth that hype - not more than your typical average-sized KMG Afterburner. What makes you think Magic Mountain will put in something that isn't a rollercoaster the size of one of those Huss Giants - use up space - and not do a pay-per-ride deal with it? I'm pretty sure the industry have now heard about these Huss rides and though I think one of those would make a great addition to the park, I really do not see it happening.

Nashville needs a theme park!
PKI- Waterpark expansion and a Huss J2
Cedar Point- They already confirmed an indoor waterpark for there radison and I think a small kid's coaster, maybe a wild mouse.
Knott's- I think they will unleash something big, I'm thinking an Intamin giga, Cedar Fair already said they didn't want to play second fiddle to any other park in Cali, so I think they want to take away from some of sfmm's crowd.
There is no way Knott's could fit something the size of a giga-coaster within park boudaries unless they do a massive relocation of buildings and existing rides.

It wont' take much for Knott's to steal folks away from SFMM. A nice B&M invert with an original layout would do just fine.
