Valleyfair today announced the construction of a 185-foot Intamin Impulse coaster called Steel Venom, which is set to debut for the 2003 season. The ride will cost $8.5 million.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.
Hey does this sound right, cause it sounds like there is two spikes on the ride, I heard this from the ceder fair earnings thing:
propelling them up a 185-foot-tall tower with a 450-degree corkscrew, before pausing and then reversing and accelerating backward up a second 185-foot-tall tower
It sounds like there are two towers!

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

There is no proof that Cedar Point is getting a "giant rocket coaster"!! If they are, GREAT!! Predicting rocket coaster, great, but GIANT rocket coaster is just grating on my nerves a TAD too much. All that there is to form a conclusion on is some track laying on the ground, so will ya'll all keep ya'lls Batman undies on??!!

Long live Six Flags Astroworld!! Ok, you can all laugh now...
Drachenfyre...the fact that you said "ya'll" twice in the same sentence actually hurt!
Just given you a hard time :)

You know, I was just as POed about PT as I was about SV....actually a bit more. Anytime they don't spend a big cap budget on a B&M invert, I'm upset. The loss of the most logical area to build a true full-circuit coaster is even more disappointing--they could have wedged this in almost anywhere. The final blow is the loss of height and the reverse twist.
Would I still rather see an Invertigo and a G2 coaster for less money? Wouldn't anybody?
I was more excited to get back in the wavepool than I was to reride S:UE during my SFWOA visit. It wasn't a letdown, but it wasn't exactly a mind-blowing experience either. And I took 3-4 laps, trying the front/back/etc.
I'll bet halfway through its construction I'll get all excited and won't be able to wait for spring.
Should I hold my breath for a Media Day invite? I would guess not. So what? Nobody's ever gonna purchase or rent my opinion. I sure don't have to be the first person on the planet to ride Me too....I mean, V2....I mean S:UE....oh, whatever. Cool name, though. And the less-jaundiced CBaby can't wait for it.

As much as I hate to admit it (no offense to Jeff) but Jeff tends to be right about these things, I don't know how he gets the inside scoop, but he must because he knows.

What I am wondering is, where is the sense of indignation and contempt that CF is installing a clone?
Whenever another unnamed chain announces/installs a clone there is contempt, outrage and flat-out disgust filling the posts. CF announces a clone (of a ride prominent at another chain) and the reaction is, "...if a park needs to clone something, this is the ride to clone."

(Waves hands in the air) Over here! Over here! Haven't you been reading my posts?
Not to mention they could have built it 30 feet taller and with a reverse twist for a lousy half-million more? Or even the same price? (Remember, VF won't be demolishing buildings and clearing land as CP had to, so a lot of that extra $$$ was saved right there)

8.5 mil -- they probably could have bought three "Super Duper Boomerangs" off of Six Flags... BTW, anyone know how much SF paid for X-Flight and Batwing?
