The Beast says:

Yes, just what I have been waiting for. How did they come up with the name Steel Venom? Are's will be identical to V2 Vertical Velocity only difference taller by 15feet.

========================================

No. Its actually going to be the same height (185ft) as the V2 at SFGAm. If you are referring to the one at SFMW, than it going to be 35 ft taller.

Woohoo, another impulse. I love them, and if a park needs to clone something, this is the ride to clone.

I like the name, too.

Two years with nothing new is a long time to wait, but I think it was worth it. I'm very excited about this coaster! I like the logo, the name and even though I'm a Packer fan I still like the colors(very similar to Viqueen colors)! This will be a long winter of anticipation. I can't wait to read what the other VF fans will have to say.

Well here's the proof for all the nay-sayers who predicted that VF wasn't getting an impulse.

It seems as if the rumors were true after all and that VF will in fact see some new steel in 03.

I can see why Intamin had to ship over a dozen engineers to their Maryland office to help with the huge amount of projects this coming year. Expect to hear many more announcements as I hear they have at least 12 projects going in 2003 alone!

And I can guarantee you CF got a mother of a discount on their new attractions. True, some companies do sign multiple ride deals, but most of the time, they just place something in their contracts that will allow them to purchase future design types at lower prices.. kinda like a quantity discount. Look at Paramount with the Vekoma Flying Dutchman. They had already worked out a deal for 3 of them, but since they changed their minds , Six Flags stepped in and picked them up at a great price.

Legendary, yes. Most of the construction for these kinds of coasters is the LIM'S. If you see CP's website with pictures of the construction of WT, there are hallways full of different electrical stuff for them. It took a very long time for the construction of all the wiring.
The question is.....is this the LAST Itamin project that CF:LP will see this year (besides the obvious Cedarpoint coaster)? Signs point to no.

I REALLY hope Michigan's Adventure get's a coaster for 2003. They are overdue in Cedar Fair's promise to add the hypercoaster.

I'm happy one of my former home parks is getting a coaster. I hope to get back there next year when visiting family. The logo is cool but to me the colors don't fit.

84 coasters and counting

So, now what about dorney. With their attendance increase, do you think they will get anything? I would love an impulse.

Great Logo! I'm glad they aren't using Sea Foam Green again.

They are get some kinda of water park expansion at Dorney. Kinzel said something in a interview about adding to the water park a while back.

“If you give a enthusiast a footer.......He’ll want a coaster!!!"

Yea I heard about that too, but what about a new coaster? The waterpark is great already. Coasterwise, gadv has them beat, and if gadv gets a new coaster this year, and dorney doesnt, they will be in trouble.

When they went to the trouble of replacing the beach with grass and straightening the back spike on Valleyfair's picture, you'd think they'd also have taken out Power Tower and the water tower. Details...

I think I've seen better "air brushing jobs" in Hustler. ;)

I agree the colors dont look right...Midnight Blue Supports and unpainted steel track would look good IMO.Good for Valleyfair! As for the Photoshop hack...looks pretty good to me!

No Limits is every enthusiasts best friend! :)

I don't think Dorney will get a new coaster but I was thinking if they don't they won't be able to keep up. However SFGADv had low attendence this year.
Ok, does Magic mountain have an impulse? If not, then KBF getting one next year would be quite a coup.

I think it is quite cool VF is getting this. I personally would have spent the 8.5 million on a kick butt woodie, which the park is majorly lacking, but this addition suits them well. They don't have a Boomerang (thank God) and aside from Wild Thing, need some good metal. Anyone know why they are reverting back to one twisted spike instead of the two at CP? As far as KBF, I wouldn't want an Impulse there. They just got Xcellerator, a complete circuit launch. An Invert or stand up (sorry...I am a big stand up fan...even after my first horrible experience on one...Iron Wolf...was so thrilled that the seats moved up and down that I was for lack of a better explanation...trying it out...and was locked in a very uncomfortable up position...needless to say I stood perfectly straight from then on out) would be awesome.

Waiting for the CP announcement to be made so that about 1000+ posts will be made complaining about it.

SFMM doesn't have an impulse, but I think they should get one to replace Flashback.
