Ugly Coasters

I've come across some really nice looking caosters but then again I've come across some really ugly ones.

Just to name a few, Batman and Robin: The Chiller, Batman: the Escape, Thunder Road, and typhoon at Santa's Village.

Which ones are yours?

Anything KBF took the paint brush after.

I tell ya, recently I would have to say its safe to say that Knott's bought the giant paint by numbers kit. They're going crazy!

I agree about Thunder Road. It looks so Old and Worn-Out without White Paint.

IMO Most Mine Trains look Bad, but then there made to look that way.

I also think that the Hurricane at Myrtal Beach Pavilian looks bad, spread out over the Midway like it is.

I happen to like the bright colors. It presents a fun atmosphere and it is pleasing to the eye. In my eyes there are no ugly coasters. Its just that some parks elect not to take care of their rides.
Viper at SFGAdv..just plain ugly.

Anything with tons of rust IMO is very ugly.

I knew someone was going to mention SFGAdv's Viper. I think it looks awesome. Unique coasters are beautiful to me, as is any other. I agree with Antuan on this subject--none of them are ugly.

Funny. . . I think Viper's visual appeal is the best part of the ride ;)

I don't think of too many coasters as ugly, though there are a few that stand out as pretty.

I waited for 7.5 hours through four tornado warnings and all I have to show for it is this lousy kiddie coaster credit.

Anything at Astroworld, unless SF finally remembered they do have a park in Houston, TX, and that yes, they do have roller coasters there. Maybe they even remembered that humans ride rollercoasters, unless of course they look like they were dredged out of the ocean.
Scream! would have to do it for me. Usually B&M coasters are extremely attractive, but Scream! is a completely different case. First you have an ugly color scheme, then they what could have been a great looking coaster and throw it on a lovely looking parking lot.

But Superman The Escape is the ugliest coaster ive ever seen along with Viper at SFGADV....it is really ugly!

Excalibur at Astroworld

Wow, Superman:The Escape is a coaster? Who would have ever thought? ;)

Sorry, had to do it.

I must admit, I was pretty impressed with how they were sprucing up Knott's until it came to be Jaguar's turn. It just doesn't look as cool as it did with white supports, not to mention the red and purple (or is it lavender? :)) doesn't fit in as subtly with the Aztec theme, as the red and white did.

As for ugly rides, well Dreamworld's Thunderbolt is a ride that'd otherwise look great, but the fact that it's been eleven years and counting since a coat of pain, and has turned this ride into perhaps one of the worst cases of coaster rust around (I'll give you Batman: the Escape though - that's just horrid).

Any wood framed coaster with steel track or steel frame with a wood track coaster is ugly to me. Wood and steel are just horrid combinations. This would include Gemini at cedar Point: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery14.htm?Picture=4

The Villain at S:WOA :http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery633.htm?Picture=1

andExcalibur at Valleyfair: http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery119.htm?Picture=4

Auscoasterman, you took the words outta my mouth about Thunderbolt. When I saw this post about ugly coasters the first ones I thought of were those horrid double loop coasters manufactured by Meisho Entertainmnet Machines like this one at Fuji-Q Highlands:

I think TTD should get a mention here. I mean not only does the thing look like it should be part of the next Austin Powers "Johnson" sequence, its gigantic and bright yellow! They could have found a more non-descript color scheme I think ...

Not that that makes a tad of difference in the ride experience ;)

All the Vekoma SLC aren't so pretty. I think Maggie deserves to be mentioned beacuse it needs a new paint job. ME at SFWoA needs to come down, might as well knock down S:UE while you're at it. I think Gemini should get painted white.

YOUNGSTOWN 2010

Damn it...I was also one who's mind immediately spawed an image of one of those wretched looking Meisho coasters.
